I feel the team probably needs 10 SP options. With injuries and performance issues.
They will probably add 2 more SP before the off-season is over.. no one fancy.. but guys that can eat innings..
Maybe a minor league contract in case of injury. But I hope they don’t push back the guy they got for Lynn to the minors

He voted for talent without exclusion
Saw where people were replying they should include Bonds, Sosa and McGuire into the HOF. Those numbers were so astronomically ridiculous that I can never justify allowing those guys in. They ruined a magical target to aim for. As a kid I would always think about someone breaking 61 HRs.

I can see where you are coming from but I say stock up the minors with most of those pitchers. That way we protect ourselves for the future but also have some trade value.

I say let Bonds in but if you want to include steroids on plaque, go ahead. It’s all about the history. We have enough revisionist history going on. These writers are not all that squeaky clean either. We all have warts

As you wish....Not sure if he is a SP though

Is this not the outlook for the Rangers at this point? Definitely has not been in the past adding pieces but this year it does to me look like they are doing this. Even if we add a one year guy at 3B, we may flip him for prospects.
They’ve talked about it at the deadline the last few years, but for whatever reason they can’t seem to trade anyone for prospects.

either we over value our guys or the offers we get are dog shit. It seems like it’s a rule written in stone....

” when the rangers contend...... prices are high. When the rangers are trying to rebuild..... everyone hoards prospects”.

The delay is because of there being staggered reporting dates for spring training due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BA is reporting that until MLB and AAA spring training ends, players at lower levels will not be allowed to report. That delayed reporting date means that, other than at AAA, minor league seasons wouldn’t be able to start until most likely sometime in May.

The good news is that those levels will apparently be able to have their seasons run through September, rather than ending at the end of August/early September as is normally the case, meaning that if all goes to plan there should still be a normal length of season for AA and A ball teams.

Complex leagues don’t start play, generally, until summer, so this delay in reporting shouldn’t impact those schedules.

Their warts should come into play when they are up for writer awards.

It would have to be someone significantly better than Frazier or we are not going to get hardly anything in return.

Just like the PTBNL OF, Chester, that he picked up earlier today, this guy is a nobody. Minor league roster fillers and nothing more.

Seems like the return for Lynn was better than Yu

The Dodgers only got Yu for a couple of months. Also, let's see about Alexy before deciding on the Yu trade.

still think we should stay internal but knowing JD not being able to avoid waste he probably signs someone like Renato Nunez on a 1 year deal

He would come with 3 years of control. And he’s probably about to have the best 3 years of his career IMO based off of his age and progression.

Then he would have trade value

I like all of those guys.
IMO Alexy, King and Phillips need to prove themselves as starters at AA first though.
Gatto is interesting.. not sure if he’s going to be a starter or reliever.
