We've gone this route before it failed. Stick with pressbox Lock leader see if he develops or not over stop gap solutions no wonder we need changes so bad.
How did that work this year when Lock missed some games? I believe we need an experienced QB, not necessarily a threat to his playing time but someone who can help mentor him on and off the field as well as step in if he gets injured. (again)

I think if we bring in these guys it is as a backup and to push Lock, not the idea to bring in these guys to be the starter.

And - not to reduce Lock's much needed reps with the WRs.

Florida had 62 scholly players - while the Buffs played with 49 (and the announcers never mentioned that). Both the Sooners and the Longhorns looked plenty good to me for next year.

Florida was without 5 of their top 6 WR’s their starting TE. Their top 3 DB’s. Two starting DL and Oklahoma is pretty good.

True and Colorado was without 3 starters on the Dline - the starting ILB (2nd team All American) - one starter WR, the starting TE and 2 starters in the Dbackfield and Texas was good enough to take Oklahoma to 3 OTs.

Now that the Eagles have been knocked out of the playoffs in the super weak NFC East, it will be interesting to see what they do in the top 10 of this draft. I think a guy like Surtain would make a lot of sense for them. They need a top corner to groom on the other side from Darius Slay, who was OK this past season but is probably in decline. What other corners would be in contention that high? Caleb Fairley?

I am not sure why we are comparing who was out for Florida vs who was out for Colorado. They didn't play each other. Yes, both teams had a lot of players out. A lot of teams do though. Covid and opt outs. It has been happening for the last several years with bowl games now (not covid) but players declaring and not playing in the game. After Jaylen Smith and Jake Butt got injured, Christian McCaffrey was really the trend starter of it.

Surtain
Farley
Jaycee Horn (South Carolina)
Tyson Campbell (UGA)
Shaun Wade (Ohio State) Part of me thinks he might make a better safety.
Asante Samuel Jr (Florida State)
Derion Kendrick (Cemson)

Added a few more incase they wanted to move down and draft a CB.

Next years CB class headed by LSU CB Derek Stingley and Florida CB Kaair Elam is going to be a beauty.

But, LOL - Colorado got the Texas Coach fired. ;)

Few Underrated CB's going into this draft

South Carolina Israel Maukumua (Not sure how SC D was so awful this year when you consider their two CB's)
Josh Jobe, Alabama (Very physical can get a little grabby) But he is scrappy.
Thomas Graham, Georgia
Camryn Bynom, Cal
Rachad Wilgoose, Wisconsin

Overall this is a decent CB draft. I like next years top class heavy, this has pretty good depth. It doesn't blow you away at the top or with depth, but overall pretty good.

One guy who gets a lot of draft love who I just haven't seen it when I have watched him is Stanford's Paulsen Adebo.

Florida CB Marco Wilson has been very up and down.

Yeah gotta be something in the works there when they initially said he was safe. Something changed. Or someone became available.

I would have no issue taking Surtain at 6. I personally love Jaycee Horn. I like him and Surtain both a lot!!!! Horn is my favorite CB in this years draft (personal fav) and I think he and Surtain are about the same level, in that is a very high level. I think Surtain ends up the #1 CB taken. He is a smart CB... He plays very similar to his father when he was with the Dolphins. Very dependable. Son may be a little more athletic, but I think like his dad he will play for a very long time and be very dependable (maybe not fancy) but that is exactly what you want in your CB.

A lot of Philly fans will probably want a wideout because I don't think anyone really sees Jalen Reagor developing into a #1 receiver, he is more like a #2 or #3 type of threat. So people will want guys like Chase I am sure. But I personally would take a corner.

Yeah I think when Philly took Reagor they had to know he wasn't a future #1, he is more of the big play guy who you can use in multiple ways. Reagor can probably thank a player like Tyree Hill for becoming a first round pick.

Chase is a beast. Devonta Smith probably goes top 4. This is really a good draft at the top. It reminds me of the year Chubb went. It's a decent draft overall, but the top is REALLY REALLY good.

Lawrence, Fields, Sewell, D.Smith, Chase, Parson, Pitts, Waddle, Surtain, Roussoeu, Solid 3-4 OT's who could go top 10.. The list goes on.

Good RB's like Najee Harris, Travis Etienne, Chubba Hubbard will far.

Then so many value picks. Another good WR draft with value like Ole Miss WR Eljah Moore, UNC WR Dyami Brown Ohio State WR Chris Olave, Florida WR Trevon Grimes... I could go on.

and if Mac Jones declares.....

Patriots are praying for the Cowboys, Vikings and Chargers all to win and having the Broncos finish with a win would be even more peachy when the Jets finish at 3-13. Since the Broncos beat the Pats head to head, you guys would fall to 11 and the Patriots would move up to 10.

NFL Draft order 2021

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-14) (Trevor Lawrence)
  2. New York Jets (2-13) (Justin Fields)
  3. Miami Dolphins (via 4-11 Houston Texans)
  4. Atlanta Falcons (4-11)
  5. Cincinnati Bengals (4-10-1)
  6. Philadelphia Eagles (4-10-1)
  7. Detroit Lions (5-10)
  8. New York Giants (5-10)
  9. Carolina Panthers (5-10) (God only knows)
  10. New England Patriots (6-9) (6-10) (Zach Wilson, but Belichick will take a DL or trade the pick)
  11. Denver Broncos (5-10) (6-10)
  12. Dallas Cowboys (6-9) (7-9)
  13. Los Angeles Chargers (6-9) (7-9)
  14. Minnesota Vikings (6-9) (7-9)
  15. San Francisco 49ers (6-9)

Planning on trading up to 2 or 3? Wilson will be celebrating with his family long before the 10th pick.
