forgot about that. They beat Bama that year?
tore up Bama and then tore up Mariotta and the Oregon Ducks.

That was the Bosa/Cardale Jones/Ezekeial Elliot team- when they were young.

the OSU team the next year was definitely even better- but blew it against Michigan State and Cook if i remember.

That Buckeye team that just beat the hell outta Alabama and Oregon was a very young team.

Told you about ohio state @tlance

Yeah, you were right.

Saw about 10 minutes of the Northwestern game and thought Ohio St. wasn’t that good.

Pretty sure though it was you who also said they didn’t deserve to make the playoff last week.

That is true. Just had a really bad feeling about this game for clemson. Dabo did too much shit talking.

So glad he got his team got destroyed

Northwestern beating the shit outta Auburn should have probably been a little bit of a clue-bird. NW was obviously pretty legit.

he really did. He kept talking to. He shoulda just shut up.

Ohio State has the talent. I hated how topsy turvy their season was.

This is really the game that for me cements Ryan Day as a worthy successor to Tressell and Urb.

I always thought Day was the right choice---- but you go from 2 great coaches in Tressell and Urb to a guy who seems like a great fit and great up and coming guy--- but still has a lot to prove.

I really feel that Day proved today that in addition to being at a recruiting behemoth like OSU, that he can also coach at a very high level.

Cowardly response from a cowardly man

it will be interesting to see what Clemson does next year.

OSU will be fine. They always are.

Clemson has had Trevor Lawrence and DeShaun Watson. Its not impossible they get another crazy good QB, but I cant think its likely.

My question is- can Clemson continue to be elite?

I have no doubt OSU can.

I think Clemson CAN still be elite without all-time great college QB's, but its definitely not a certainty. We shall see how good of a coach Dabo really is.

Of course they will.

As long as Dabo is there they will dominate the ACC and be in the playoffs every year.

Now winning once they get there is another question. But they will be there.

well- it definitely does help them that the ACC sucks.

but i dont know if its guaranteed. Especially if ND drops out of the ACC next year- which i think they are going to.

If they dont beat anyone all of a sudden Big 12 and Pac10 and ND - could have teams that bump Clemson--- especially if the SEC has 2 great teams.

Say you have Alabama and OSU - (if OSU doesnt get tripped out- which i mean isnt impossible)---

2 spots for ND, Pac 12, Big 12, a possible 2nd SEC team and ACC doesnt guarantee Clemson anything without a Lawrence or Watson.

Undefeated Clemson is getting in the top 4. Too much name brand there.

Now, they start losing games, all bets are off. But they are likely to go undefeated often because the ACC is so crappy.

well of course if they go undefeated--- but breaking in a new QB and losing a lot of talent.

Miami and NC are definitely not great but they are not pushovers.... over a 11 game schedule you can lose a game here or there witha new QB that isnt an all time great. Thats what i am saying.

If they have one loss- and it comes down to them, Oklahoma and ND each with one loss- i certainly dont think thats a shoe-in for Clemson at that point. With Watson or Lawrence they would get the benefit of the doubt.

Have their own playoffs because they'll never make it under this format. Not even sure if they would have been selected in an 8 team format.

What are you really playing for if you know you'll never have a chance to even make the playoffs? At least in CBB, every single team in Division 1 know they can make March Madness

And I forgot who where I heard this idea. It was either from twitter or ESPN....now that I think about it, I heard it on twitter from Mike Golic and thought it was a fantasic idea
Not a bad idea....I mean, FCS has their own playoff.

Doesn't it bother any of you CFB fans that the same 3 teams are pretty much the only ones with a chance to win it all, every year? It's obvious who I mean.

In pro sports the championship level teams change pretty frequently.
I'm OK with it.
