Not involved in that but I'll still own that I was wrong about Josh Allen (though realized it before this season). Still not sure he'll end up better than Baker but sure looks like could be the case....thinking, though, we might be 12-3 if we had their defense.

Bills defense was pretty bad the first half of the season.

Also, Bills might be 16-0 if they had the Browns running game.

Works both ways.

Yeah, I think once he lost the starting job the writing was on the wall, but I do think he could have earned another chance had he played better AND not been a moron.

Nobody wants to give up on their 1st round pick less than 2 years after drafting him.

Yeah there's no doubt he should have handled things better. Hopefully this will be an eye opening learning experience for him.

Over what? I was right too. I'm just not patting myself on the back for it as on this one you could be right without ever even seeing Haskins play (and I saw all his games).

You are right. Never watched him play once in college.

You are going out of way to deny the possibility that I might actually have some legit inside info on these guys.

Pretty hilarious really.

I don't think a lock he goes as high as once thought, but Fields will get a long look from someone. and if not him, the type of QB Day wants compared to Meyer, I think one of his highly ranked QBs from this season or the next few has a shot as well.

Fields better have a strong showing against Clemson or his draft stock could drop.

Josh Allen went from a very inaccurate QB to a very accurate QB. Experts were even saying this is the quickest turnaround they have ever seen and for a QB to change his entire mechanics aren’t and the progress to be this quick...once in a lifetime type of change. He’s been better than Mahomes the second half of the season. Crazy but I might have been wrong about my prediction, well at least what he has done this year, but he was a very inaccurate passer and he was in college. His dedication and work probably couldn’t be duplicated 1 out of 1M. It’s been shocking

Shit you got some inside info? So you know someone in the organization? If so can you get me Chase Young and Terry McLaurin's autograph? :heh:

That being said, it’s still only one year of Allen. I don’t think he will continue to have years like this but I also don’t expect him to be as inaccurate as he was before. His future looks bright but look at Lamar last year, crazy MVP year and back to reality. Lets wait more than one year

Yeah, not really. Browns D has been incredibly bad with nearly every starter projected as a DB going down. Many for the entire season. Running game can help, sure, but teams can still throw the ball and win without a top running game. Needing to score 30 to win (and sometimes that not enough) a different story.

Stay focused if you can. First, I never denied you saw him play a lot, but that is irrelevant as these are not your insights. I only pointed out I have seen him play every game he had because one could make the conclusion I did by never even seeing a CFB snap, only knowing how many QBs were taken ahead of him and where he was drafted. THIS discussion is also about Haskins only, not the overall evaluation process of your hero.

what I find hilarious is you cannot acknowledge the validity of the above. But I can see how your world turned and you were hooked when he said a QB might succeed with a team who plays to his strengths and could struggle if they don't. OK, I take it back. THAT is what I find most comical.

Just my opinion but at this point time to just admit you were wrong. Not like you were alone. Many did not see this type of success from allen (I sure didn't). Could it go the other way? sure. But not looking like it will.

I mean, he could have someone he trusts and maybe even someone in NFL might listen to......but the idea you need some inside info or some comprehensive formula to determine the 3rd QB taken in a draft in the mid-teens or later would fail is what I find astonishing.

did ya catch where his guy said of Baker "he could succeed if an offense is built to his strengths but will struggle if not"? How has a guy like Snyder not paid whatever it takes to make sure this guy's pearls of wisdom don't get into just anyone's hands?

Were my comments not right a year or two ago, he looked awful and lot of people thought the same. Yes I was wrong but he’s had the greatest transformation in NFL history. How many guys do you see change their entire throwing motion and succeed? You never see that, you could call his tranformation a miracle. I will gladly be wrong consider his odds. Good for him

Two years ago? Yeah but last year nah. I had Allen as the 13th best QB last year in my rankings at the time of your post.

If this is how it happens I'll take it...especially after last week's debacle that started the day before the game.

Nothing wrong with it happening this week. Are the rest of the Steelers starters playing?

I think he may be but yeah that's up in the air. We'll see how things stand in another 3-5 years when we can make a more accurate prediction but if you ask me what QB i want for next season? The answer for me is Allen

Haven't hear about any other than Ben. would think some sit all or some as doesn't make sense to take a chance on losing more vulnerable (though less important than the QB, sure) players.

I'd like to see rest of this year play out but wouldn't blame anyone at all for wanting Allen. also a plus both have been pretty durable so far.

It'll be interesting to see if any teams are interested in Haskins this off season.

I'd be surprised if someone doesn't give him a shot. He's young, he was a first round pick, he hasn't taken a lot of hits...someone will convince themselves that they have the coaching style and/or system for him to succeed.

The one thing that is a bit of a red flag (beyond being released less than 2 years after being signed) is that he was handpicked by the owner and was still released during the season. That means the owner signed off on it.

So, he may not get much interest early in the off-season and may not even be on a roster when camp opens, but someone will bring him in and give him a look. If nothing else, someone will lose a qb to injury in camp and will give him a look.

If he's smart and wants to really help himself, he'll hire a qb coach to help with the holes in his game and teach him how to be a professional.

Hate to say it because I want them to get back to the playoffs.

But losing to the Steelers with a playoff berth on the line and Ben out, would be a very Browns thing to do.
