This probably has to do more with Magic that it does Pelinka, but the Lakers convinced Lebron to join the Lakers without a second star player.
Yes, "Hollywood" played a big role in him coming to LA but I very much doubt he joins the Lakers if the front office was as incompetent as a lot of people were saying just a were 18 months ago.
I agree to a point.
But also why I am not sure just how much credit Pelinka deserves.
It almost seems to me like LeBron chose the Lakers so they he could build his own champion from scratch.
The Lakers weren’t close when he joined. You didn’t hear about meetings between LeBron and the teams he was looking at. One day LeBron just announced he was signing with the Lakers.
Did Magic and Pelinka really sell LeBron on the Lakers? Or did LeBron just decide that was where he wanted to build his next champion?
Not sure we will ever really know for sure the degree to which the Laker front office factored in LeBron’s decision.
