Haskins is just the sort of player who needed time, didn't get it here, goes to a professional organization and blossoms into a top QB in the league. If that happens, the consolation prize will be, "how in the dysfunctional fuck did Washington let him go?"
This is where you and I differ. I see the seeds for a professional Football Team emerging and DH imo, doesn’t fit the profile.

Yes All is better than Haskins. That's no hellified thing though.

Allen has won1 game against a team more dysfunctional than WFT. Gave a game away with turnovers to a team as dysfunctional as WFT and got knocked out in the 1st half against the only better than decent to good football team he faced. And there's already talk of Allen being next year's starter.

I think Allen fits this offense. Lets give him the year and see how he performs. You can keep downing Allen after his first full game start in a Washington uniform but he showed alot in that Giants game. If Allen shows consistency, yes we should keep him.

I dont think he should be playing over Allen this year. But there is no reason to let him go now.

He showed how to single handily lose a game against a winless team that the defense was destroying.

He tied the game in the end. I love how you forget this. RR blew that one. He made the wrong call and put Allen in a bad position. Give Allen this year and see what he can do.

I don’t forget anything. We were tied. Then Allen gave the NYG seven points. Allen had time, chose to run around with the ball exposed, got tackled, gave the ball to the NYG, and allowed the NYG to get a TD without the defense being on the field.

Now you want to blame RR for the loss. You want to give Allen the season...but why didn’t we give the guy we drafted the season? Allen was given a shot in Carolina. He proceeded to lose 8 straight. Allen is now 1-2 here. He was the sole QB against two teams with a combined two wins and came out with a single victory. He got a win against a club missing every OL, one QB, and the worst defense ever...still managing to score 11 points less than he Dallas average. But, there is hope...it is called luck of the schedule:

NYG 1-6 maybe he can NOT lose this game after a bye.
Lions 3-3 little hope of a win
Bengals 1-5-1 we will get blown out
Cowboys 2-5 maybe they will be healthy enough to field a team

Steelers 6-0 ummm
49ers 4-3. We r
Seahawks 5-1. Screwed

Panthers 3-5 little chance
Eagles 2-4-1 unlikely to win

Wow. Yes Allen made the turnover but he also made the huge comeback drive to get the TD. It showed me alot from a guy who was in his first start with the team. DH got his chance and didnt show the fans or coaching staff anything to keep him as the starter. He was being played for his draft status not his play. Allen is 1-1. Cant count the Rams game he only played a quarter in a half.

I agree Dallas is a bad team and it was an easy win. The next three games are winnable. Makes this team 5-5 going into Thanksgiving which should be 6-5. I agree the next three games are probably losses which makes us 6-8. I think we have a shot with the 49ers b/c i think Jgrap is a bad QB. Now the last 2 games are definitely winnable. Why are the Panthers some type of juggernaut? they are an average team. Last week of the season is the Eagles which is also winnable.

What you are not factoring in is that the Eagles schedule is brutal. They have Dallas twice and the Giants but other than that they should lose all the rest of their games. So its very likely they go 5-10-1.

Skins could go 8-8, 7-9 or even 6-10 to win the division. I have the Eagles at 5-10-1. Cowboys 4-12 and the Giants 3-13. We should be in the driver seat b/c we have the best defense and the easiest schedule in the division.

First off, he is 1-2 as a starter. He has started three games for this team. RR was afraid for Allen’s safety and didn’t put him back in, so he offered up the guy coming off a LIFE-threatening injury instead.

Secondly, you discount that Allen put us behind and was the sole cause for us needing to come from behind.

Next, DH was played for his draft status. That is unfair to DH. DH was on his third coach in his first two years in the league. DH was needing to learn a new playbook with rules that inhibit learning. I told you from the beginning Allen was brought here to start, but I also said it was a mistake. Had we stuck with DH, we would likely have three win now...not two.

As for the Eagles schedule, they will beat Dallas twice and NYG. That puts them at 5 wins...which is likely our best. They still have us to play...at home...likely far healthier than they were week 1.

So you have us winning the next three games...I have us maybe beating the NYG. We will lose to the Lions, who have won their last two games and 3 out of last 4 to include a win over Arizona, who beat us by 15. We will not only lose, but get blown out by Cinci. At best, we will be 4-6 after the Cinci game if I am wrong about Cinci.

I didn’t say the Panthers were a juggernaut But they did beat Arizona by 10. You just admitted they were average...but we are a poor team. We will have no more than five wins on the season.

As for the Eagles schedule, they will beat Dallas twice and NYG. That puts them at 5 wins...which is likely our best. They still have us to play...at home...likely far healthier than they were week 1. PHI is also capable of beating the Browns and the Saints.

I think you are absolutely insane and are kidding yourself with Allen and this team. We lost to the fucking NYG and beat a HS football team in Dallas. I wish the shit I take was half as potent as the stuff you take to fly that high...talk to me after Detroit.

lol. I will take that bet that we win more than 5. Disagree on DH. He was benched b/c of poor play and bad study hobbits. Plus he is immature. It all starts next week against the Giants.

I can't really argue against your perspective and there's no doubt that another change is in the works here. The question surrounding both this change and DH is... will one or both become meaningful contributors on an ever changing NFL landscape. Btw: if given sodium pentothal and asked to choose which one of the two will see more success, I would honestly answer, DH if he doesn't stay in Washington.

Now if he stays here, Washington will become a big time player on that NFL landscape.

Isn't this the exact same offense that he had in Carolina? Same HC, same OC. so let's stop with all of that nonsense about uniform changes gives rise to different player. In this offensive scheme he started out 5 and 1 he has now gone 1 and 11 in his last 12 starts in this same offense. C'mon man!

Keep in mind that there's been one poster who has insisted that young QB's should sit and learn ( the exception being a desperate situation where there's no other QB available) DH has been mishandled from the start. He is Jason Campbell part deux.

Simple, it's because of two reasons.

1. Ron Rivera is no longer their HC

2. Turner is no longer their OC.

Average beats bad.

So, basically back to where this team has always historically been. Isn't it time to finally move away from that constant middle of the road mentality?

You may be on point concerning Allen. Like some are saying about Haskins, that he just needed more time, maybe that's all Allen needs. While its been a bit of time now. Rich Gannon turned, at least imo, all conventional QB wisdom on its head. He was the epitome of a journeyman QB playing for 3 different teams in 11 years before going to Oakland and maybe spent a few years there before becoming a baller.

Maybe that's all Allen needs, more time, and you know what? I hope you're more right than the rest of us and Allen turns out to be a legitimate NFL QB capable of leading a team to the promise land if given enough the proper weapons. I really do. Cuz fuck, man. We as Reds, er WFT fans, are due for a fuckin break, at least imo.

The guy has good arm talent and has better mobility than DH. If he plays smart he could be very serviceable.
