He won't lose FL, the biggest and dumbest of the bunch. If it weren't for northern KY, I mean Cincinnati, then OH wouldn't be an issue.

Actually, the issue in Ohio is the double threat of West Virginia (SE coal country) and the farmers who hate socialism when counting their subsidy money.

Cincy is really, really liberal.

I hope she gets voted out in Maine...

Yep total grandstanding on her part, she knew it didn't make a difference. Hopefully the people of Maine see right through her garbage.

So Saskatchewan voted today and while Moe easily won re-election the Wexit separatist Buffalo Party made a bit of a dent in some ridings

Don’t know if this gets better or worse from here - Alberta’s next election isn’t for another two and a half years and a lot will happen before then - but that’s not nothing.

Mark Meadows is right. The Trump team isn't going to control the virus.

Because that gang of dickheads failed... and they aren't going to be running the country anymore.

Eat a dick, Trump supporters. Silent majority my ass you treasonous troglodytes. How a group of people can be so consistently wrong for hundreds of years in a row is mind boggling.

Guys that I grew up with...in and about Montgomery County.

SN - I actually knew peeps that ran about with this dude...on the ‘mean streets of Bethesda’. I have absolutely no doubt as to his character, given what I’ve heard from people I trust...that knew his crew and their shenanigans.

Now this. Clown.

Not sure about that. Mitch McConnell has gotten what he wanted out of the court jester, so they can get away with cutting him loose now. Trump is generally unpopular so Mitch, Lindsey, Mitt and Cruzer can all now pretend they always were against him. He basically said as much today (paraphrasing) about how the next election will undo a lot of the shit the Republican Congress has done (or not done) so he was giddy about this because they can't undo it. We can't undo it. It's a giant "fuck you" to the American People.

Also a lot of people hate Trump, but they wanted him because of how he would rubber stamp and make the court their wet Jeebus Lover dream. Now that it's done, they don't need to vote.

Whatever happens - make DC and Puerto Rico states and add four seats to the court (then write it into the constitution to keep it there). Gloves off. I would love if the end result of this power grab is trading a 5/4 majority for a 7/6 minority. Either that or go in and kill the lifetime appointment.

5 of them have been nominated by Presidents who lost the popular vote and the last two were placed by senators who represent 14 million fewer people than the ones who voted against it. That needs to be fixed.
That right there is your starting point. In DC at least, the idea enjoys overwhelming popularity and it's likely to pass in PR as well where it's on the ballot this fall. I'm no Constitutional law expert here, but I've always understood that the two main requirements are the people expressing a desire to join (DC - check, PR - pending, but likely) and a state Constitution. My understanding is that DC has passed Constitutions on several occasions in the past and PR has one in place already because of their existing status.

If Dems have all three branches, all you need is a simple majority to pass legislation admitting both. You're admitting two extremely safe D senators and one extremely safe D representative. Adding PR gives you two likely safe D seats in the Senate plus (under current populations) 4 seats in the House (likely something like a 3-1 split). Even more critically, PR adds you 6 EC votes.

Just the addition of the 4 Senate seats alone should make things more difficult for them going forward. And the good thing about admitting new states is that it can't be undone by a new legislature (i.e., if things went sour in 2022). Everything else, like adding justices could be undone, though my understanding is that it gets a little Constitutionally murky if they've been seated and it would most likely be that the next X number of justices to die/retire aren't replaced until they're back to their desired number.

Funny how these "Rule of Law" fucksticks seem to want to turn away from the Rule of Law when it it gets inconvenient or difficult.

And once that is done, they need to come up with a congressional redistricting plan that will eliminate gerrymandering. States would still be able to draw districts however they want for state districts, but since the Congressional districts affect national interests the Federal Government should have a say in how they get done. There has to be a solution that can be applied in a blanket fashion. There is no way something like this should be possible:

And McConnell adjourned until Nov 9th, so there will be no Coronavirus relief package.

As if there was any doubt where the American People stand in order of importance.

While I fully agree with you in principle, I think any national effort at redistricting legislation would likely be struck down by the courts.

Imagine being such a douche that you think covering nearly a quarter of a million dead people is a waste of time.

While I fully agree with you in principle, I think any national effort at redistricting legislation would likely be struck down by the courts.
Which is where court packing would help.

Wouldn't the Senate need to be filibuster-proof?

I've always thought Nunavut's riding was gerrymandered to hell!

Well, if they told me he was drowning, I would not lend a hand.

To recap his song choices:
Fortunate Son - About richs kid dodging the draft, and poor ones who object not being able to
YMCA - A song about a place to go find young gay lovers
In the air tonight - A song about waiting your whole life to seek revenge

Didn't he try a Tom Petty song too at one point and got a cease and desist order from Petty's family? I think it was I Won't Back Down. LMAO.

Should be played every time Baron von Grabbercrotch storms out of a presser or an interview.
