I get what your saying but a generational type qb can carry your team for years. Plus it makes free agency that much easier when you have that piece of the puzzle solved. Everything falls into place once that situation resolves itself. Look at the turn around Josh Allen’s presence has had on the Bills.

And I get it’s not just Allen, but great drafting by the Bills too, but qb is the most difficult position to get a franchise type player for.

They’d trade it. There is absolutely no way Lawrence isn’t going #1 folks unless he does something really dumb or has a terrible injury. Most teams who are going to pick number one are doing so because they need help at quarterback. And Trevor Lawrence is a QB you don’t pass up. If you pick #1 and you have a young QB you will be trading that currnt QB away. (Darnold example) I doubt the bangles pick a number one because Joe Burrow will be able to win games for them despite not having an oline he can probably win enough. Our D is probably too good to pick #1 but at the rate our injuries are going. Lock is also not out for the season soooo. We probably fall outside top 3 which means no Lawrence, Fields or Sewell.

Jets and Lions are in play for #1. Jets are a mess and while Darnold isn’t bad he isn’t Lawrence. Lions would be more than happy to move on from Stafford, IMO.

Finally get a decent slate of college football this weekend. Little better then last two at least. Miami/Louisville was a good game to watch last week.
