That isn't the same scenario though. Do you think anyone would have given up that compensation having seen Rosen play 4 weeks into the 2019 season, where he was just as bad? Haskins didn't have much value this past off-season, but now he has even less. Another is who would trade for him? The Dolphins needed a QB when they traded for Rosen, so there was some demand there, and they didn't have a high enough of a draft pick to get Murray or Jones. Plus 2019 was a weak draft class for QB, 2021 looks to be really strong. Who needs a QB next year that will trade for him, that won't be able to land one better in th draft?

Possibly but no one knows... Also, I never stated that some team will trade the exact picks for Haskins as they did for Rosen... My comment was more about you saying that he can't be traded because he has no value... Some team will trade for him... I would be surprised if the skins didn't land at least 3rd or 4th for him if they do end up trading him..

I just don't think he has that much, if any, value at this point. We can agree to disagree on that, which is fine. I'd be pretty surprised if they got a 3rd or 4th. I'd guess a 6th, but we'll see what happens. He's almost assuredly done in DC.

Miami was desperate and well, they are Miami. My thought about this scenario is nobody out there is that desperate. of course, that may change at some point but he has no trade value as of right now.

Personally I don't know why you don't go to Smith now. Washington is half a game out of first . If Smith is healthy he's CLEARLY youre best QB. And its not close. If he's not healthy then he shouldn't be on your roster

Smith wasn't cleared until late in preseason. Allen got almost all the back-up reps. Regardless of health he's the QB who is most up to speed.

Only on the internet can giving a 1st round pick a full 2019 camp, 7 games to sit behind a starter, and then 13 starts, be considered NOT giving a player a fair chance.

It's not over for Haskins but being benched is on him rather than anyone else. He's got a game off to get his head straight and then get back in the fight. His contract is fully guaranteed so he'll get this season and the next offseason to prove his value. No need to trade him at this point, (and his contract/cap situation wouldn't hurt anyone), because he won't be worth less in March.

RRs framing this as Kyle having had the time from playing so poorly to now to having had time taking mental reps on the bench and that he’ll play with the same set of guys that DH did. Now it’s time for DH to do that.

If Kyle fails/succeeds it’ll help with assessment of everyone. Is it Dwayne or is it his complementary parts. And if so, RR will know where the team needs help. RR was also quick to point out that this was a setback for DH and he was extremely sympathetic with the facts that DH hadn’t gotten training camp, etc. and knew this wasn’t FAIR....but that doesn’t matter, when ya look around and see that the division is so weak this year.

With Alabama and Ohio State players on the roster, who are used to winning, it also isn’t fair if it is QB play holding the team back. Also states this is only a setback for now for DH.

In the end, even if it is the wrong decision...with how shitty the division is I see his point. You just don't like to see a young QB yanked around like this and expect him to grow but we will see. To be clear, I've never said Haskins was the future just needed a shot. I said he should sit and learn from the start well now is his time to sit and learn. Could take 2 years, they could throw him back at starting QB if it gets bad or eventually trade next season...who knows. Either way, it seems at this point they need to find a QB for future still bc they don't seem to believe in Haskins. But right now you go for the division...you have to. I could see if Dallas was 4-0 or something but they have a legit shot at this point. But like everyone said, not sure Allen wins the division...if anything Alex Smith wins the division for this team.

consistent leaks of unhappiness with him. Leaks of benching him. Then you bench him....his agent fired off.....then u drop him to 3rd on the depth chart....nah come on he’s not in your plans. Again, I’m not saying I agree...

But the more I think about it, the more I think with that d, and that crummy division....they’re going for it....I don’t entirely blame them.
