I don't think road games is the problem with the NFL. I just think the playing once a week/larger rosters means there is a higher % someone slip up and cause an outbreak. Like are players really with their team that much during the week. Isn't it usually practice, watch some film, and go home basically? And Monday is usually an off day for players. Just lots of room for players to slip up IMO. Hope the NFL gets proactive after what happened with the Titans as MLB did after the Marlins screwed up.
You can't play multiple games in one week in the NFL. Players have cited that when team's would play on Sunday, then have a Thursday game following, that the 4 day gap was brutal. You can't do that consistently.

I agree. I was just more saying it leaves more room for possible slip up. They have much more freedom during the week than mlb or nba players

Agreed. In the end, it's up to the NFL players and their respective families to be responsible. Although he's usually trigger happy with fines, Goodell has been active in fining teams considerably.

Push the playoffs out a week or two as necessary to allow fill-in games at the end of the season. There's no reason the playoffs can't do deeper into February.

Might be right. Not sure if a rule or just strongly advised. Pretty sure Marlin players who first got illness left hotel. don't recall a punishment. Indians punished Clevinger and Plesac but do not think they had to.

NFL guys on road get to hotel, do a walkthrough, have meetings, go to bed, go to game, go home.

Or, if they're Raiders, they hold a charity event with way more people than they are allowed to be near in a single gathering and don't wear masks or socially distance. I guess if your coach won't set the example...

was, but in this case seems most were. Guy with a big arm like him and drops to the teens in draft does not scream franchise QB.

You can say this every time if you want, but go ahead and keep track of my guesses.

Over time you will see the trend.

I have no expert knowledge of the game. I am nothing more than a casual fan who likes to watch on Sundays.

And I will be right on more of these QBs than any NFL scout could ever be expected because my friends’ data is that legit when it comes to predicted QB success at the NFL level.

I say this every time because...well...it's true. Go ahead and tell me all the big arm QBs drafted in the teens or 20s who succeeded. Cannot recall if he was considered a big arm guy coming out (and only 6-2) but I'll even spot you Aaron Rodgers.

That isn’t what I mean.

Every time I have been right so far about my QB picks, you have discredited it in some way saying it was “obvious” for some reason.

That is fine. But again, I ask you to look at the aggregate instead of focusing on why my pick was “easy to see” in each specific instance.

For the record, I hate the timing of this move.

He should have either been benched prior to game 1, or after game 16.

This just creates a scenario where people will have unanswered questions about Haskins’ future.

I don't recall discrediting any of them. I am solely talking about Haskins. Can you come up with any big arm QBs taken in teens or 20s who were decent QBs? Easy to say any guy taken there will not work out and be right.

Does seem odd after at least playing OK against a solid Bmore defense. Didn't see the game, so in this case only going by his stats. Cannot imagine he was the main reason for the loss.

He wasn’t completely terrible, but the stats are misleading. There were quite a few long catch and run plays like Gibson had a 40 yard screen play. He did have some really nice connections with McLaurin in well thrown, well timed slants where he was able to run after the catch.

He also had a couple bad misses on open targets and 1 4th down decision in particular where he completed a pass well short of the goal line on 4th and goal where his WR was easily tackled.

The trend I see is that he can make easy early read throws, but than gets flustered and brings his eyes down when it isn’t there. Then he either makes a bad decision or takes a sack. Sometimes unnecessarily.

But yeah, Baltimore was easily his best game of the season.

And also, I would add that it would be completely unrealistic to expect anything but a loss against the Ravens.

I was actually expecting a massacre. I was pleasantly surprised that the game was semi-competitive.

Yep...why I agree with you it was odd timing for his demotion.

something else I agree with you on is a QB makes the WRs more than other way around. To be fair, I'm not sure anyone expected Mclaurin to be as good as he's been. Doesn't seem like he has much else to work with.

and, yeah, guys like Brees, AR, Brady, Big Ben will have their O humming no matter who is at WR. But they also played a long time in college and were not elite in year 2 (and, no, I don't see Haskins as ever being elite. solid is his ceiling and I would not put that at even 50-50).
