congrats? Still think "no chance" MLB finishes?

all seriousness, seems like an easy solution.....make the playoffs in bubble cities and add 2 weeks to schedule for makeup games if needed.

That's not a real solution. There's 13 more weeks left. This soft bubble isn't going to work. NFL is never proactive. Should have had additional weeks for this added to the schedule from day one. The simple solution is have hard bubbles in the home city of every team and things would run smoothly but having players and coaches go home daily and expect a spread not to happen is very unlikely

You said MLB wasn't going to finish either. Yet I'll be watching my Dodgers in the NLDS starting Tuesday.

Nfl just need to make changes as MLB did. MLB was daily games and much smaller rosters. For the NFL, we're talking about 170 players/coaches/ staff per team that's going home to family/friends. Also in MLB it is much easier to make up games considering they play daily

@Wamu, how you liking your boys today...?

Looked good to start. Running game looked solid. Still not sold on Mayfield, but he didn't look bad. OBJ had a crazy game. But the 4th quarter was a nightmare. The D had nothing left. Couldn't get off the field. My biggest concern right now is Nick Chubb. Left the game early with an injury and didn't return.

talking about a real bubble. Use it for playoffs. add 2-3 weeks to schedule. Not ideal, but neither were all those DHs in baseball, and baseball players had far more free time on road. But they got to the playoffs (even after you said "no chance").

But I get you want doom and gloom, so have at it.

Also not sold on Baker as far as him being elite. But in this offense when it works (and game goes as hoped) that is exactly what we'll get from him. Only time Cousins really got fantasy numbers was when they were making frantic comebacks from huge deficits...kind of like Dak last 3 weeks.

Had some real nice throws/patterns with Baker/Landry on 3rd down pickups.

as for Chubb/Hunt? sure until we know have to be concerned with Chubb. wonder if cautious because figured they had Hunt.....and maybe cautious with Hunt since whoever ran the ball did well.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty certain MLB players were not allowed to leave the hotel when on the road

Might be right. Not sure if a rule or just strongly advised. Pretty sure Marlin players who first got illness left hotel. don't recall a punishment. Indians punished Clevinger and Plesac but do not think they had to.

NFL guys on road get to hotel, do a walkthrough, have meetings, go to bed, go to game, go home.

I don't think road games is the problem with the NFL. I just think the playing once a week/larger rosters means there is a higher % someone slip up and cause an outbreak. Like are players really with their team that much during the week. Isn't it usually practice, watch some film, and go home basically? And Monday is usually an off day for players. Just lots of room for players to slip up IMO. Hope the NFL gets proactive after what happened with the Titans as MLB did after the Marlins screwed up.

no doubt all comes down to what they do in their free time. You had no hope baseball would finish so I'd just say maybe wait and see how it plays out before doom and gloom sets in.

It's more difficult for the NFL to implement what the NBA and MLB did respectively. You can't shorten NFL rosters down from the 53-man roster they use at the moment. Coaching is significant in the NFL as opposed to MLB and NBA. You can't do daily or more frequent games in the NFL given the sport's contact oriented approach. And lastly, it's highly unlikely you could do a "bubble" approach. The amount of games on a frequent basis being played would tear up any field and make the conditions unsafe for players.
