So much irresponsible behavior.
Don’t understand this constant refrain from you. We don’t know the details yet. It’s possible it was irresponsible behavior but it could easily have been unintentional, many instances of this too. Let’s not leap to conclusions before we know the facts. And even then, what does finger pointing do. Everyone needs to play their part and take this seriously. No exceptions if they want the NFL to have games.

The teams need to take this more seriously.

Good call to push the game. Things would have gotten ugly if the PITvTEN game caused a bunch of positive tests.

Fuck it, if you really want to punish the Titans call it a forfeit. I know its not fair to other AFCN teams, but it will wake up teams on how they are handling their covid cases, especially teams with playoff expectations.

I could see something serious coming if a team is discovered to have behaved in an egregious way against protocol.

I know you are half joking....cuz Forfeiture is a bit extreme for a first time penalty and from a competitive advantage for a 3-0 team. Maybe for a multiple offending team down the road.

NFL has already indicated loss of draft picks might be involved.

Here's the problem.................................Quarantine requires 14 days. That's two Sundays and if those 8 players are starters the Titans are screwed.

I'm more interested in this....Did those 8 players happen to be together at a restaurant on Saturday night and have the same waitress or go to the same bar and have glasses that were on the same tray or washed in the same cycle together? Why these 8 players? What's the common connection?

A quarantine period of that long isnt required if you are getting tested as often as NFL players are getting tested. That is for suckers like you and me who can only get one test a week and have to wait 3-4 days to hear the results.

This is a highly contagious disease. It is very possible that the Titans did everything correctly and it still spread like this.

It is the problem of not having a bubble. A single player or coach could catch COVID from their wife or child and then bring it into the facility and then this happens.

The NFL is too large to bubble. So you just have to deal with the cases as they come up. The Titans aren't going to be the only team that has this happen this year. Again this is why I cant believe that they didnt add weeks to the season to cover these type of make up games. There are going to be quite a few of these before the year is out.

100% agree. I fully expect the NFL will ultimately have to delay the SB date. And I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Just fucks the money involved, TV contracts etc...Which is the hugest concern for the NFL anyhoo.

Yes this is going to be the Steelers bye week.

They will then move their week 7 matchup with Baltimore to week 8. And play the Titans in week 7 (when the Titan had their scheduled bye) and the Ravens in week 8. The Ravens essentially just will move their bye week from week 8 to week 7.

That is the logical fix anyways.

Vikings had no positive COVID-19 tests from Wednesday's round of testing and reopened their team facilities Thursday.

The team's facilities were evacuated after the Titans -- who played against Minnesota last Sunday -- reported a COVID-19 outbreak. Players and staffers will undergo rapid result “point of care” COVID-19 tests before entering the team facility. As of now, fantasy players should plan on having their Vikings in Week 4 lineups.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Week 4 will be treated as the Titans' bye week following Thursday's cancellation of Tennessee/Pittsburgh, causing a "ripple effect for the Steelers and other teams."

The Titans' bye was originally scheduled for Week 7, with the Steelers' for Week 8. With few teams playing before fans, byes will be treated like currency, shuffled and re-scheduled as needed to accommodate cancellations. This approach, of course, will only work earlier in the season when few teams have had their byes. Later-season postponements could require make-up games in a "Week 18."

That blows having a bye week this early in the season, and then possibly not having a normal mid-season by week.

yeah, some teams are going to get screwed this season with games getting moved around. i also remember hearing before the season that the league is open to pushing the season out up to 2 weeks, if needed, should things get real hairy.

I'm fine with adding extra weeks for these games.

Not jacked about fucking with our mid-season bye.

Steelers definitely got screwed here. I’d be pissed if I was a Steelers fan. But, it is what it is. Coulda been any team and not gonna be the first bye to be affected this season.

That's what I was indicating in an earlier post if the covid problem goes beyond just this team. Imagine if multiple teams get cases. Again, this isn't baseball, where you have ample time thruout the season and the logistics are such that made it easier for the league to catch up with its missing games. That ripple effect could turn into a flash flood if they don't get this under control fast.

Early reports were they tested before the game yet played anyway. That's not doing every correctly.
