ESPN's Dianna Russini reports Sunday’s game between the Titans and Steelers has been postponed.

The NFL is "considering all options," including moving the game to Monday or Tuesday night. The Titans had another player test positive for COVID-19, their fourth one this week. Tennessee's facility has been shut down, but the NFL is still hoping to play the game at a later date. The Titans will be tested over the next couple of days before determining the next steps.

All positive players should not be allowed to play this week. Moving from Sunday to Tuesday isn’t enough time to get rid of covid.

Think they want to test the players again, to be sure they have it contained.

If Henry has it, I think they should play the game as soon as possible......

If the NFL chooses Tues, it would also allow the Titans t least one practice day, given no more positive tests.

Possible time slots if the game is not delayed further...

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports that the game between Pittsburgh and Tennessee, which originally was lumped within the 1:00 p.m. ET cluster of Sunday games, will be nationally televised in its new time slot, whenever that may be.

If the game moves to Monday, it’s expected to start at 5:00 p.m. ET, setting up an unprecedented non-Week One doubleheader, with Steelers-Titans on CBS preceding Falcons-Packers on ESPN. If the game moves to Tuesday, it will be played at 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. ET.

Marchand notes that CBS prefers that the game start at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, in order to avoid a conflict with national programming like the CBS evening news, and the late-afternoon local news broadcasts for its various affiliates.

However it plays out, the Steelers-Titans game not only will be getting a new day and time but a larger footprint. In turn, it will draw larger ratings. And that makes the mini-outbreak in Tennessee ultimately a good thing for the NFL and for CBS.

I’ll add - postponed from this week completely.

Wonder if this means the bye week for Steelers becomes week 4. I would t like that if I were them.

If they make it a Tuesday night game, they need to push next week's Eagles @ Pittsburgh to a Monday night.

Can't expect the Steelers to go from a Tuesday night game right back into a Sunday 1pm game.

They’ll be rescheduling for later in the season.

They can't do just that.

They'd have to shuffle a Ravens game too, because the normal bye weeks for Pittsburgh and Titans don't match.

I guess they could tack an extra week on the end of the season. A Covid makeup week.

It’s going to be interesting reshuffling games. All sorts of ramifications for teams that snowball as the season progresses.

There we go.

I'm guessing a Covid, 'Week 18'.
I was listening to some thoughts about how the NFL would address the inevitable positive COVID tests... NFL should have put more flexibility into the schedule, imo. Like more bye week, etc.

They’ve mentioned using bye weeks and according shuffling o fteams, also what would typically be pro bowl week, also WC play off weekend and delaying SB date to later in Feb to use for rescheduled games.
