And - within 15 minutes of me reading this, the “gonna sign Earl Thomas” tweets commenced.
No Thanks....While I once thought this would be a good signing for Dallas, not now.
It's reported that he was late for most team meetings last season and down right skipped others. His backfield mates have had enough of his antics. Keep this guy as far away from Dallas as possible.

That’s not the “room leadership” I’m looking for either. Hard pass.

I'm sure it's just more fluff. :rolleyes2:
Well there could be some fluff going on. I dont believe the hype going on for Hill. On the other hand Lamb did dominate college football and in good conference.

I'm down with Ceedee. I also think we'll get contributions from a few other rookies this year. May take some time with no preseason games but this team sure needs to of hit on about all the draft picks.

I also remain optimistic Hill becomes a rotation guy this season, but that has more to do with not wanting to define a player after one season

Scotsman & UK won't approve.....should just roll with another QB. :rolleyes2:
Not true, I want Dak but I just think that NO ONE is worth 40M a season. The cap could take a step back each of the next couple of years and a 40M AAV to one player could and probably will result in us having to cut or trade a couple of valuable assets or make more moves like TSmith that came back and haunt us

We will have to cut some good players if Dak goes to $40 million per, there is no way around it. If we win the Super Bowl this year then break the bank to him, gladly, but if it's another 8-8 or 9-7, I just don't see how you can justify it

So if it's $40 million per to get it done, you do the deal?
not my money.
I've seen every Cowboy Super Bowl and ALL I'm interested in is making another trip to the Big Dance. That trumps anything money and cap concerns. A few of you guys always talk about the money and that isn't the most important part to me.

Look, I remain very unsure Andy Dalton is the guy and even less about a mid round drafted QB. The Redskins look the fool to me after two years tagging Cousins. They have built an impressive defense and still reaching for a QB while struggling to win 8 games mush less playoffs and a championship. I've said it before and will again, IMO 8-8 last year wasn't mainly Dak. Dak gives us the best chance to get playoff success cause successful NFL QB play is not standing on many street corners as some here seem to think. I prefer to be optimistic about the young O-Coordinator and the hiring of this coaching staff. That makes more sense to me than rolling the dice this team lands another Romo or Andy Dalton in a full time role for 15M less a season than what Dak will command after this season. The window is short and seaching for another QB is a huge step backwards to me.

BUT...BUT, make no mistake about what I'm saying here. The problem for the last 24/25 years has been the General Manager and his best chance at another championship is staying outta the way. I sure as hell don't trust his or his son's judgement on finding a replacement for Prescott. Hell....if he had his way, Lynch or Cook would be the QB and this team woulda been fighting the Redskins the last 4 season for last place.

so 37plus million nest season is better than a long term contract that averages 40M per when in 3 seasons 40M will most likely be less than top 5 money for the position? Win the SB this year or cut bait seems like crazy talk and borderline Dak hater than anything else

Borderline Dak hater must be code for someone who likes Dak but wouldn't give Dak $40 million per year. I've liked Dak since he was at MSU. I do think we might have missed out on a SB by not going back to Romo in Dak's rookie year, but as far as that kid is concerned, he has done a great job. But just paying him record breaking money because he is the next QB up to get paid is crazy to me when he is not a guy who can put the team on his back.
If he can't win big this season, you're right, I would not pay him over $35 per, period. Take QB out of the equation and this is the most talented roster in the NFL. Take Mahomes off KC and there is no way I think KC is any better than Dallas.
