NFL teams are excited to roll out their pandemic versions of themselves.
Maybe the market for Cooper is not there yet.
But when the non-preseason injuries start piling up... and when teams realize (if the Gallup & Lamb rumors are real) that Cooper's talent is 3rd on the depth chart.... I could see a WR-needy (or WR-desperate) team pull the trigger.
Even as a Gallup believer, from back in his college days..I'm still hesitant to say hes better then Cooper. There are things he does better..especially down field, but Cooper is superior in route running and creating separation..at worst, the average out to equals. Lamb might be better than both, he could be a bust.

I hear ya.
The gist of my post tho had to do with Cooper's tradability.
The only opinion that matters is what McCarthy sees and believes.

In hockey, contracts cannot be restructured or renegotiated.
There were a few high-priced guys on the Blackhawks that were falling out of favor a few years back.
Never thought we'd be able to find a buyer since the new team would have to take the contract as it was.
My point is another team will see value in Cooper even if the Boys don't.

I think the Cowboys are in a great position for negotiating if Gallup doesn't take a deal
Cooper's talent is 3rd on the depth chart

My guess is later in the week when McCarthy gets questioned about Coopers rank on the depth chart he will also be a #1 kinda a 1a and 1a situation where the coach can't put 1 ahead of the other without the other getting butthurt. IMO Gallup needs Dak or another jump ball QB if Dak isn't there when its contract time the or if Gallup won't give them a deal that is better than Cooper got they should move on from him. If Dak takes a deal and Gallup is willing to take a deal below market value cut Cooper during the 22 off season(6 million in dead money).

And to make things worse for him

not sure how true this is, but read on twitter that McCoy keeping the 3mil was prob the only reason the injury clause was in the contract to begin with, which does make sense

Rumor is the ex-boyfriend was also on the team and Coach O told him not to worry about it because girls sleep with alot of football players. scary situation for sure

That is one way to look at it Coach O......wtf
All in the name of football, wow, that's fucked up.

LSU football is going to be under the heat lamp for a bit here, and it looks to be 100% warranted.

They wont be winning anything this year so they might actually take some heat

Thought of you because...
Just read ESPN's Matthew Berry's 100 facts for 2020... (you may have read it since it was posted in June)...

He talked about when Chubb & Hunt played on the field together from weeks 10-17, both averaged under 13 fantasy points per game. Not too shabby for a duo. But since Chubb is being drafted in the first round, that could be a recipe for disaster. Owners want more from their RB1.

Not to mention the lack of receptions that totally minimalizes his upside

Yeah that is definitely scary. Still, different system and they had a ball boy as HC.

Do you think Chubb gets under 225 carries?....I just can't see it tbh.

Yeah he wasn't a big receiving threat in college either but he seems to be really improving year after year. I think he will be more involved in the pass game still even with Hunt but 50 targets and 36 receptions isn't anything special...but it isn't non-existent.

Cook had 60 targets last year and only 40 targets in year 2.

Well, as OC of the Vikings he gave all the RB 450 rush attempts; 250 alone to Dalvin Cook.
So the math is there for each to get 225. IDK man.

PROS
Was Stefanski's first time as OC. Had a fairly conservative gameplan for Vikes (which does favor Chubb/Hunt).
Rookie head coaches tend to be just as conservative.
No one else really behind Chubb and Hunt.

CONS
Vikings had a very good defense. Playoff team. Are the Browns there especially with BAL in their division?
Maybe Cousins has his critics, but he completes nearly 70% of his passes and has rating over 100. Passing yards were down but he still tossed 29/7 TD/Int ratio including 2 playoff games. Can Mayfield manage games like this?
Plus there may be more arguably more mouths to feed in OBJ, Landry, Hooper, and Njoku which could impact touches.

...just to add... if Stefanski still designates the 450 rush attempts he had in Minny to the RB and he does evenly split them to 225 apiece, that means Chubb will lose 360 yards of production (if he maintains his 5.01 ypc).

Yeah I don't know...that sounds about right but I don't know if he goes 50-50. Hunt isn't Mattison but he is also probably going to see a ton of catches.

250 to 150 attempts would be 60-40 and of course 3rd string is good for 50 attempts. I could see that. I just don't see the split bc of Hunt's pass-catching ability...

Was looking at Minny's TD ratio.
18 rushing TD (13 by Cook) vs 26 passing TD.
Not a bad ratio.
But then who gets the redzone touches between Chubb and Hunt?
For argument's sake, let's say that there will still be 18 rushing TD by the skill players.
Divided by Chubb and Hunt exclusively, that's only 9 apiece. (Even Todd Gurley had more.)
Too many variables for me.
