This looks good to me but the big question here is are we a better team with JVR on the ice or Bunanaman .
I think we gotta throw JVR out there and see if he can produce. Im sure he feels the fire on his feet

Top 6 is a given I think
Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
Laughton-Hayes-Konecny

Bottom 6 is a little dicier, but I'll agree that Farabee is bringing more than JvR and it's playoff time, what you're bringing now is what's important.

Farabee-Grant-NAK
Bunnaman-Thompson-Pitlick

Provorov-Niskanen
Sanheim-Myers
Ghost-Braun

I think the bigger challenge against the Habs will be scoring goals, as opposed to preventing them. Ghost in for Braun as a result. Not sure if AV will see it the same though. Hagg-Braun were a good pair while the Flyers won like 25 out of 30.

I like the Ghost swap but JVR vs Bunneman on the 4th line is where I would go. I think a guy with JVR’s hands on line 4 is a huge weapon in a series. If a team can grab 2,3,4 goals from the 4th line in a series that’s a huge asset. But I love what you did with everything else in this post.

Fuck! Is it 8 o’clock yet? Can’t wait to get this shit started.

Our team used to take 3 to 4 dumb penalties a game. Its refreshing to see players know AV will hold them accountable for their actions. We now have maybe 1 or 2 every 10 games.

Co-sign. And would add valuing possession of the puck in their own zone. Breakouts have been more sound and turnovers are down.

Do you really think they will sit JVR? I mean I'm good with it but damn that'll be a hard contract to get rid of in the off season.

I honestly think this Flyers team has enough depth and power to sweep this series. Price can def steal a game or 2 but I'm gonna say we sweep, lose 1 at the most. We shut down top lines of 3 power house teams on our way here and 2 of those games we didnt even play as good as we could of.

I think it'd be pretty tough to argue against Farabee outplaying JvR in the bubble. And as much as I defend JvR's spot in the lineup during the regular season, that's because the regular season is 82 games and at some point he'll win you a game with a scoring outburst. And it'll probably carry over for a week and get you 5-10 standings points almost on his own. So it's worth playing him. In the playoffs though, can you afford to wait for his seemingly random outburst if you have other guys that provide a more predictable outcome?

If it were me, I'd sit Bunnaman and play Farabee on the 4th line. But they seem hesitant to do that with Farabee. IMO, he's got the right game for a 4th liner. Hard forechecker, fairly reliable defensively. And he brings a little pop offensively. JvR is wasted on the 4th line. There's no reason for that IMO. He doesn't create for himself and Thompson/Pitlick aren't going to create for him either. Plus JvR is weak defensively, so you're undermining Thompson/Pitlick by doing that. And handcuffing JvR at the same time.

But with Farabee on the 4th line, you don't wreck the 4th lines role. JvR can play with a little more talent in Grant/NAK and maybe get something going offensively. Plus you can use JvR on the PP to try to get some offense out of him. If it's not going well, you can always bench JvR during the game and move Farabee to the 3rd line. Then rotate Farabee/Grant on the 4th line primarily, but also give some of those shifts to Couturier, Giroux, Hayes, and Laughton.

I think Farabee on the 4th line maximizes the talent in the forward lines without sacrificing the roles of each line. But they seem hesitant to do that. Seems like it's Farabee vs JvR for 3LW *shrug*

But I definitely think JvR does not really seem to be a fit going forward. I don't know if they'll really be able to move him this summer, but I think as long as he doesn't completely fall apart (or never play), there's a decent shot Seattle will take him.

But when healthy (fingers crossed for Lindblom/Patrick), where does he fit next year?

Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
Lindblom-Hayes-Konecny
Laughton-Patrick-Farabee
Raffl-Bunnaman-NAK

With Rubtsov, Laczynski, and Twarynski fitting a bottom 6 type. And Frost, Allison, and Ratcliffe hopefully bumping against the roster for top 6 minutes.

What Hextall did to set this team up is just ridiculous. Fletcher adding Hayes/Niskanen is obviously huge, but the Flyers are so deep at forward and on D that they almost have too many guys worthy of roster spots, and no glaring needs to even trade them for.

They're going to be at least 7 deep on defense too
Provorov-Niskanen
Sanheim-Myers
Ghost-Hagg

And I think Zamula will be banging on the door for minutes next year. Friedman would be a capable 7, plus maybe Morin doesn't tear his ACL next year.

We need to have a waaaaayyyyy better 3rd period to win this game. Totally outplayed in the 2nd and a lucky break keeps us on top. Come on top line get it going.

I'm not at all pleased with this team after 2. Somebody mentioned earlier about playing down to the level of the Habs. Hart has made some big saves and we caught a break on the Montreal skater falling on a breakaway. Too many turnovers also. Time to clean it up and finish strong.

They got the first one under their belts and a feel for the difference between round robin and elimination hockey. PP looks much better.

And when was the last time you saw a Flyers playoff game where the tender didn’t give up a soft goal?

If the Flyers could hit an empty net would have been over long ago. Either way good game to get started with. Hart was fantastic. Still can't believe that save on Laughton...
