The team did not play great and we won. Our prior teams would have lost the game 2-1. I don't see the Habs playing any better while we have room to improve.

I am praying for JVR to light it up so Seattle takes him off our hands next year.

Agreed and les habs were already in game 5 playoff mode we can't forget that. They turned it up in the second and it took a period for the Flyers to up their level. Either way they had superior chances that normally will go in and still won. Three empty nets!

My favorite play of the game was when Lehkonen fell down on a 2 on 0.

Is it bad ice ? Not sure what made Hedman twist his ankle and go down against us.

Not much to add about last night -- you all captured all my observations.

How long before NBC sticks a sock in Milbury ? He tries to be funny - he's just a dick.

I'm sure the ice isn't great (or even good) due to how many periods of hockey get played on it each and every day, plus the weather factor with these games being played in August.

Milbury is a giant dick. How would anyone like to be John Forslund right now!? Lol He probably dreams of better days gone by with Tripp Tracy.

Better yet, let's bring back Gary Thorne and Bill Clement.

I know a few people that are working in the bubble

The ice is holding up well. They are working on it all night.
The ice is thicker than normal to hold up to the amount of usage.

Probably cant tell but the lines are not as bright as normal. This means thicker ice.

I know this because I work in the industry.

Im trying to squeeze my way into the bubble but so far no dice

That's good to hear, because if any place should be able to get the ice right, it's Toronto...Lol (no sarcasm)

Absolutley, however this surface has never had this kind of usage . So far so good. Im sure they are putting whatever resources forward that are needed. A lot of it is manpower over night.

Nobody really mentioned this, but I wish that laser off the post by Giroux would've went in last night. If there is one guy I'd like to see light the lamp right now, it is him.

I prefer to think of it not as bad ice but good luck for us.

Milbury is terrible!

No. But he is a sales guys now for the refrigeration company that we sub our work to.
And this morning his best friend was laying new rubber flooring in my facility

I want to see our power forwards own the puck offensively, cycle it and drive hard to the net in game two. Our bigger guys like Couturier, Hayes, Voracek, Pitlick and yes even JvR should be able to get to the dangerous scoring areas and wreak havoc. Also, a lot more physicality out of our defense would be much appreciated so that the smaller Montreal forwards aren't freely streaking through our slot and around our net.
