I ain't takin' that bet. I'm with you on this one.

Then again, I've been accused of being a pessimist more than once.

This very well could be the year that the best team at social distancing/managing contagiousness wins instead of the best team.

I'm not really being a "pessimist". I'm just being realistic. I would love to delude myself on a lot of things but I've learned (sometimes the hard way) that life plays for keeps; you either see things the way they are or you're gonna risk being at least disappointed and maybe even worse---in a world of shit. Even if we do start the season it's going to be a bummer seeing the stands half full (if that) and listening to politics inevitably worming their way into the commentary about what's happening. I'm worn out with all the politics, protesting and posturing. I just want some college football. :tsk:

Iowa State shuts out hapless Texas

iowa State finished 3-9 that year.

Iowa State beat Texas, Northern Iowa, and Kansas, but the diffence is Kansas and Northern scored points against that 3-9 Iowa State team.
yeah but we beat ou in Dallas that season..

Thin skinned, oversensitive kid on a keyboard imo. Nothing serious will come of it, also imo.

Like I said. Guy sounds like an asshole but this kid is trying to win the oppression olympics. Reminds me of the #metoo movement a while back. At first the shit coming up was horrifying coming from bastards like Epstein. After about a year women were just complaining about bad dates and signing off with #metoo. :L

This weekend's OU commit write up.

Elite 11: Ranking after Day 1, How's Brock Vandagriff stack up
.
Caleb Williams - Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga College HS

Our staff witnessed two "misses" from Williams all night long. The athleticism, delivery, arm strength, and consistent accuracy was unmatched to all on the field not named Justin Fields.

LINK

Williams entered the event as the No. 1 passer according to multiple outlets, including SI All-American and he would cap the initial impression with even less doubt about that status. No quarterback created the audible reaction the rising senior recruit did on throws from the outset of the workout all the way through the very end of the competition as he edged out Ohio State Heisman contender Justin Fields in the rail shot competition.

I saw the kid from Eastland, TX play a couple of times last year. He should get better when he gets to college and fills out...IF, he can adjust to the rise in level of competition. He's played in the same division Colt McCoy did in HS.

The Dominos could start to fall this weekend, for the Sooners. With all of the great gets on defense. Riley and OU, will finally get over the hump and bring home #8.

Good to see but I'm a little surprised. When Coach GQ was at Tech and Briles/Baby Briles at Baylor, a lot of QBs wanted to go there to "sling it around". I thought it would drop off with the changes.

Just the opposite at TCU. I figured there would be a lot of them interested in going to Cowtown when Cumbie was hired as OC. Just the opposite. They haven't had good QBs since Boykin!

Both examples show why a person should bet exactly the opposite of what I do!
