Woohoo! They ruined this guys career. He used to take bong rips and make sweet catches all game. Nothing wrong with that!Free agent WR Josh Gordon applied for reinstatement Wednesday.
An all too familiar situation for Gordon. He's reportedly been training in Seattle in hopes of being reinstated in time for training camp. The lax nature of the new CBA regarding marijuana could be huge for Gordon, who is certainly running out of chances with NFL teams. Still just 29, Gordon should be able to land another job, perhaps back with the Seahawks.
News - Deebo has broken foot, sounds like a jones fracture. Out a couple months, likely to miss games.
Deebo Samuel suffered a broken left foot during a workout with teammates Tuesday and will be sidelined 3-4 months.
Dr. Robert Anderson is performing surgery Thursday to repair the dreaded Jones fracture. Jones fractures can cause all sorts of complications moving forward, but hopefully Samuel's recovery goes off without a hitch. Still, the 12-16 weeks timetable likely means a trip to the reserve/PUP list to start the season for Samuel. That would cost him at least the first six weeks of the season should the 2020 schedule go on as planned. Samuel had become the 49ers' No. 1 receiver as a rookie. His absence leaves first-round rookie Brandon Aiyuk, Kendrick Bourne, 2019 third-rounder Jalen Hurd, doghoused Dante Pettis, Richie James, and Trent Taylor as the Niners' top wideouts. Perhaps they'll make a move for someone. Samuel's run-after-catch skills will be sorely missed.
New rookie should take over for Manny Sanders. Hurd should be next in line for the Deebo role, provided he is healthy. But keep in mind, Deebo isn't done for the year. RB seems oddly weak heading into the season and now Deebo is hurt. = Kittle is on a fast track to having an all-time season.Let's not forget Bourne. Or even Pettis, if he EVER gets out of the doghouse. I wonder what he did to deserve that banishment?

I'm not a buyer on Auyik. Can't really describe it, but he just doesn't look like a starting quality NFL level WR. Could be way off base, but he sure seems like bust city to me.New rookie should take over for Manny Sanders. Hurd should be next in line for the Deebo role, provided he is healthy. More representative of the current "lack of" news cycle than truly getting amped about a SF WR.You guys sure seem to be tripping over yourselves to grab a SF WR.
Run-first team, with a QB who attempted the 19th-least amount of passes.
If there is a bright side, only 11 QB threw for more yards than Jimmy G.
And only 4 QB had more passing TD.

All of those San Francisco wide receivers just seem like guys that are going to score two touchdown in one game when they are on your bench because you had no idea whether to play them or not, and then you put that guy in your lineup and he has two catches for 23 yards the game you actually play him. I just don't see it ever being a situation that you feel confident enough to start one of those guys over anybody else unless you are really hurting at wide receiver.
Brandon Aiyuk time!
Any updates on his recovery from surgery?
It's funny how all the college football fans only like the rookie WRs that had great college QBs. Lol.
Sure but when looking for depth you aim for players who potentially have opportunities. Doubt anyone would want them for starters other then Deebo prior to his injury.
So by December the Niners will have both these guys back in action. Quite the talent add midseason.Last I read surgery went well (insane how fast that happens these days), but that he's looking at a minimum 10-12wk rehab once he recovers and can get back on his feet. If he comes back too soon, he has like a 25% chance of breaking it again, so I imagine SF will be cautious.
PUP is still an option, but far from a certain thing.
