See my post above. Not sure why we are arguing here. Those 3 on anyone's score card were considered good coaches when Snyder hired them.
I guess I wasn't following the conversation closely. I thought the impetus for this discussion was Jerry not being able to hire good coaches so assumed that was still it.

On your post, Gibbs was great, but wasn't considered a good coach when FIRST hired? Also, wasn't he before Snyder? If you are talking about his second stint I guess?. I don't think he would have gone anywhere else if that job was available

Parcells was the biggest name in the coaching world and could have walked into any open job in the league and probably half of the filled jobs when Jerry hired him.

Could be? It’s definitely where the action used to be but you, Manster, Schmoopy and Handi are all just proving my point. I said I could care less who you root for but just admit you chose the Cowboys cause they won and they all deny it. Millions of Cowboy fans outside of Dallas but not one of them picked them cause of the great history. Suuuuuure.

In other words, just admit you're right even though you're wrong - just because you said so?

It's a combination of back to back road and home situations and record patterns.

Dallas will go 2-2 or 0-4 vs the NFC West
Dallas will go 4-0 or 2-2 vs the AFC North
Dallas will go 5-1 in their division for the fourth straight year
It's hard to see Dallas losing at home to Atlanta. Minnesota can go either way, but look at what the Vikings have out of the gate which could set their trajectory.

Are these predictions or do you know something I don't?

It's just proof that the Cowboys get preferential treatment from the league like whiny Eagles fans try to portray...We'll put you in 3 divisions and hope you can win one of them :noidea:

Read from a Dallas writer on twitter this weekend that the Cowboys grossed (#'s from memory) like $900M in revenue last year (I assume it was last year). Next closest team was NE at $650M. Must be all that recent winning that Dallas has done, huh?

I feel bad for how dumb you are

A real fan picks a team for whatever reason and never changes. Why is it that there are so many young fans of the Cowboys today? Is it all of that winning they have dine lately? Why would someone who only roots for a winner still be a fan of a team that hasn't in decades?:L

Because the second the Eagles won a SB you all brought up 5>1 that’s why.
I don’t know why you think I’m dumb. I’m only saying you picked the Cowboys because they won. But, like ALWAYS, you all act like you don’t. You never called me dumb before but now I’m dumb because I said you picked the Cowboys because they won. Makes sense Jarntt. You’re a good guy and a good poster but just admit it but for some reason the millions and millions of Cowboys fans just can’t admit the truth

hell....you get your ass kicked here just about on a daily basis.

Yeah like rookies sign 5 year deals. Hahahahahaha. I know you agree with me too because you didn’t say shit and weren’t man enough to say I was right so you just stayed quiet instead of telling your Dallas fans I was right. If you thought I was wrong you woulda joined right in. Jarntt May be a front runner but he’s a man.

OK OK Jarntt. It wasn’t because the won and won and won. I didn’t say you said that. I said that what a Cowboy fan would say if their greatness was questioned over the last 25 years. I’ve never seen you this mad. I don’t ever remember you insulting me. But all it takes to get you fired up is to say “You became a Cowboys fan cause they won and won” but, as always not one of the millions of Cowboy fans ever admit it. Not you, not Schmoopy, not Manster, not Handi. Shit... are any of you from Dallas? Sooooo many fans. But I know... had nothing to do with them winning

You did say I said that actually when you quote me and say "you all brought up"

Don't confuse ridiculing you with being mad. They were on tv because they had a history of winning. More People became fans because they saw them every week. Is there a correlation, of course. But answer my questions. Why are so many younger fans today fans of the Cowboys and why are so many older fans still fans if it is about winning?

What makes you dumb is this idea that you came up with in your head about people going through a tough time in their life and wanting to feel like a winner so they became a fan of a sports team. Do you not get how dumb that generalization is?

Again, good years ago dosen't mean still good. If a team hired Shotenhammer, Gibbs or Parcells today would that be a good hire?

Facts are not one coach ever declined to sign withDallas.
Now if you say Jones choices of Coach's is questionable I'll agree, but the notion that coaches don't want to coach in Dallas is asinine.

It's as if you are unaware of what Shottenheimer did in SD after he left Washington. Pretty safe to assume Shanahan would have had other offers given he was a 2 time champ and had a career record of 138-86. As I have acknowledged Snyder soiled his reputation Gibbs was in racing and only came back because it was the Redskins, that does not change the fact that when he was hired the 2nd time he was still considered a damned good coach. His 2nd stint was with Snyder and a terrible organizational structure and that was too much to overcome.

I was asked to name the good coaches Snyder hired, I provided a list of coaches who most everyone considered good coaches.

He didn't do squat in SD, dispite having Brees followed by Rivers, a pretty good RB named LaDainian along with a very good defense.
I wouldn't call 5 playoff wins in 21 years as a HC a top coach.
Fact is, you made a statement that was pulled out off your ass and now you're desperately trying to defend the indefensible.

I always thought Shottenheimer was underrated. Yeah, he never got over the hump, but sometimes it's just bad luck. Look at Andy Reid. Guy is just a fantastic coach and was the butt of jokes for years

He won 200 games and had a .613 winning percentage. Schotenheimer (spelled it wrong) absolutely qualifies as a top end NFL head coach. Throughout most of his career he was seen as one of the better coaches in the league.

He also lost 126 games and went 5-13 in the playoffs.

I stick by my statement when the Redskins hired him teams weren't beating down his door. He was way past his prime by then.

He was only given one year in Washington. Nobody is going to be successful in that scenario. You’re wrong. Marty was one of the top coaches of his era. He was never The Best coach of his era but he was always viewed as a top 5-10 coach throughout his career.

Where was Marty coaching the year before Washington hired him?
