Anyone who's read my opinions of BB (aka: The Genius) knows that I love him. Maybe "tanking" is a strong word, but from the stuff I've read, his lousy draft was step 1. Lol, who knows with him?

I've mentioned before... when Bledsoe went down, I hammered my buddy, saying the local university team could beat the Pats..."who is Tom Brady?", I said.

I won't make the same mistake. The way I see it, Stidham is the defending AFC East Division champ.

Jerry sending a message either take the offer or they're start shopping him

Dalton deserves more credit than he gets as a QB it would be interesting to see what he could do with a good line and an offensive minded HC

or maybe to counter any threat to hold out and not play by Dak. I find it unlikely that the a Cowboys actually want Dalton as their starter.

Dalton has always been a decent QB. It just seems like when he is bad he is really bad and most of those games are night games where everyone is watching.

I think he is an intriguing signing because he has never had his team carry him to victory in Cinci. If Dalton didn't play well, the Bengals lost. I'm quickly looking through his game log stats and I'm not seeing any games where the Bengals bailed out Dalton with a win in a game where he played poorly. IIRC Dalton also had a playoff game against the Chargers he should have won but AJ Green dropped the ball.

I kinda thought the Patriots were going to make a play for Dalton. Cowboys signing him reminds me a lot of the Titans signing Tannehill last year. That backup is too good to just back up.

I think it’s to pressure him to accept their offer, as was previously stated.

I think the Cowboys have a strong position right now. They just drafted a top 3 WR prospect to go with a talented set of weapons and now they have a strong backup. Obviously Dak has way more value than Dalton but if I'm the Cowboys then I think I have pretty good leverage right now

Definitely, but it really doesn't make sense for Dak to take anything less than 71+ million over the next 2 seasons and I doubt the Cowboys want to pay that, so its smart to have a backup plan and imo Andy is a good one.

Think they meet in the middle eventually. Kind of risky for Dak to play on the franchise tag and sitting out isn't really a good option now. Really better for all involved to come to a agreement.

He played for 2 million last year instead of the 30 million plus he was offered. Playing on a tag of 31.6 this year and trying to force a tag of 39 next year isn't nearly as big a risk. It would be pretty crazy to pass on all that money last year then cave now.

Injury is always a risk. Also if he plays out the tag and becomes a FA at some point, can he find a team that has both the need and cap space to offer more then what the Cowboys are willing to pay now? Maybe, his play going forward will matter. He can’t afford a slump or just meh type of play.

If he were worried about that stuff why would he have taken that risk last year?

Over estimated his worth perhaps? Seems to be a common event with players. Think by now the Cowboys likely have upped the money and such. Maybe he does stay the course IDK, but think he’ll find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.....less then he thought it would be.
Initially I was surprised the Cowboys have not signed him, now I wonder just what kind of terms he’s demanding. Got to be rich or this would be over by now.

Rumor on the local sports shows is that the Boyz are trying to sign Everson Griffen.
I think that D is on the rise already. If they sign him, watch out.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate Rick Spielman? ;)

Everyone is gone except for Mike Hughes, Holton Hill, Harrison Smith and, so far, Anthony Harris. A lot of potentially good talent was drafted, but if Harris gets traded (they have been shopping him) and Griffen signs elsewhere, the defensive dismantling will be complete. :gaah::gaah::gaah:

A bunch of screw ups...to hell if I know. They signed Clinton-Dix, but other than that, its a no name secondary for the moment. But the LB's and DL is stacked with QB harrassers
