Kiss sports goodbye everyone

This has very little to do with the NBA

That is also a terrible tweet. Yeah we're in worse shape than Canada but we also been dealing with Corona for over a month already. The peak of the corona in our country is looking like somepoint in late April

While seeing something like golf listed as an essential activity seems odd. Like anything else, it's about how it's done.

If 1 person is golfing alone or with 1 other person that they might live with, I don't see it as a problem and it could actually help.

A group of people all getting together to golf, not a good idea.

If my son and I decide to go down to the park and play basketball together, no problem. We decide to go down to the park and join a pickup a game. Not smart.

there is a ban of gatherings of 5 or more people

tell me how having an nba game would be able to get around that

NBA already been discussing having all the games played in the same area since fans won't be involved.....something tells me Canada was never discussed as that area so yeah it changes almost nothing about the NBA plans

You do realize what's happening in Canada mean absolutely squat if the NBA is looking at playing all their games in 1-3 cities in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA right?

There is one NBA team that plays in Canada. This changes absolutely nothing if this virus is going to peak in the USA in late April/early May

the season is over

You think way too highly of Canada in a sport where 29 of the 30 teams don't play in Canada. This isn't the CFL lol

As I said before to @msgkings322 , I trust the actual experts over anyone on here (myself included). The NBA is already willing to extend the season into late August and this thing is going to peak within the next month according to all the experts

Really not that hard to continue the season sometime in June once fans won't be attending

lol

OMG!! AMERICAN SPORTS LEAGUES ARE ALL GOING TO SHUT DOWN BECAUSE CANADA...

Hilarious man. He's not even considering the following facts:

1) There's been zero talk of cancelling the season. Everyone is committed to playing into late August if that's what it takes to complete the season

2) There's been talk of only playing in a couple locations to avoid the back and forth travel to different cities

and what about the secondary wave that the experts say is also likely

Who said it will be normal? None of us said anything about fans being involved which would "be normal". Playing games without fans isn't normal

What you're not grasping is that this thing isn't the same everywhere.

New York is extremely crowded and people are stacked on top of one another. So, bks has to be a helluva lot more careful leaving his house than I do leaving mine because I'm in a much less populated area and folks are more spread out.

Additionally, curves are beginning to flatten. If memory serves, I heard yesterday that Italy (the hardest hit country with numbers we can trust) has experienced a decrease for 4 straight days.

As bks points out, cancelling the season isn't even being discussed at this point.

There have even been comments that the NBA could finish the season in August, start next season on Christmas Day and then going forward have seasons start on Christmas Day and run through August. It would pretty much eliminate having to compete directly with the NFL and CFB for viewers and the season would end before the baseball playoffs eliminating competing with those as well.

And finally, Canada is behind the United States in getting this thing. So, you will hit peaks later and your curves will flatten later because of that.

Oh, I also heard today that the Lakers have completed their quarantine and they are clear of the virus.

So, that's the Jazz and Lakers that have been cleared.

Do we know of any others?

They said that happens in the fall. The NBA season will be done before the start of Fall

And I would bet that it would be far less severe because we will already know how to deal with it.

Or at least know a lot more.
