3,850 people have died in the US so far

So to the experts out here. When do you think the 100k numbers happens

or the 250k

this is far from being close to being over
Won't ever get to 100k. I'll bet you a permanent ban.

I just saw that. Like with so many things, the American government is wrong. There's no way that happens with the measures we are taking. Only way that happens is if deaths accelerate from here, with all the measures being taken. Instead of decelerating like they are now.
They are underpromising to overdeliver.
But whatever, if it feels good to panic go on ahead.

not panicking

Hey you might be right, it's definitely on the table. I think they figure out some way to do the playoffs this summer. We'll see.

Read something about UNLV.

No need to pull the plug, officially.

But, I don't see how they can continue and protect the players, team personnel.

It would be based on something like tlance suggested, test EVERYONE involved and play in empty arenas. It's doable.

I don't see it either.

But, the league is clearly still rubbing the hell out of that rabbits foot and praying for a miracle.

They want to avoid the shitstorm of having to honor contracts.

If they play a truncated playoffs, at least they'll get TV revenue.

Holy fuck you're dumb.

Florida's multi-million dollar tourism industry tanking

Coronavirus Worries Slash Fortunes Of The World’s Richest Sports Owners By $72 Billion

Holy shit, i am smart

BTW Dan Gilbert is now worth 2 billion more than old Mickey and his inherited Carnaival cruise lines from his daddy

It's still a good time to short anything to do with Florida and travel, housing there is next, i would recommend shorting the Reits along with the cruise lines like i have been...But what would i know, i have only been right this entire time...(you are probably to dumb to understand shorting so don't respond)

i agree just as every business that is closed right now. They all want to reopen

This is MUCH bigger then any business. The sooner everyone understands this the sooner it will all be over

Devils advocate.

Can't be a place like Vegas, Hawaii etc..

20 something, millionaires aren't always bright.

They will mingle, they will risk exposure for the bunny ranch, if nothing else.

So, unless they send them to Diego Garcia, Keflavik Iceland or another remote location, it's probably a bad idea.

Not really, you're not.

First of all, those estimates are closer to worst case scenarios than what we are likely to see. The idea is to scare people into taking precautions.

It serves 2 purposes...one is obviously to stop this thing. The second is so that politicians can run around patting themselves on the back and telling us all about how their "swift and decisive action saved tens of thousands of lives".

Additionally, saying the NBA season won't resume when the only talk happening right now is about how to continue it...isn't exactly being realistic.

Of course, none of this means that there's a guarantee that the season will be completed in some manner. Flattening curves is a trend, trends can reverse.

But right now, the chances of the NBA finishing the season appear to be greater than the chances it won't.

Windhorst said this as well then Stephen A said there isn't any talk about cancelling the season either. The fact that the NBA is open to playing until late August is crucial.

They aren't going to play lol

What if someone gets sick again...Jeff Van Gundy brought that up, and they had zero answers for that

And let's face it, the NBA has done a fantastic job of catering to fans and being out front and ahead of other sports leagues in a lot of ways.

You know that they would love nothing more than to be the first sports league to start having games and signal the start of returning to normalcy.

That would be huge for the league.

How about the fact that there's been zero discussion of canceling the season by the very people who would be making that decision?

I think even NBA dummies know what's up right now.
