It's my opinion take it or leave it but you just can't can you? You have to always be right as well....but use common sense if he sat all year would he have been offered 20 M starting gig? This even on a rebuilding team maybe he figured he better jump this time!!!
Common Sense would actually tell you, that yes he and his agent believed he would. Otherwise he would of taken the dolphins offer. You realize that right? They waited , assuming he'd get offered the next year. That's the logical thing to see.

I dont consider intelligent decision making as cowardice.

Old man Fitz has nothing to lose. he is what he is & everyone knows it. So in a way he has nothing to prove or lose.
he also knows he will get replaced by a future QB. (he just loves the game of football & is glad to be here)
Bridgewater is working on being someones future QB.

Fitz decision & Bridgewaters is apples & oranges.

I understand your angle but starting NFL QB jobs don't grow on trees either. If he didn't get his break he may have been dusted. that's my point. Question is will Carolina be any better than Miami was last year? Oline I guess can't be that much worse although they traded their OG.
they might not. They seem to be dumping players as well. But I dont think it will be because of QB play. Dolphins I was figuring were gonna get the #1 pick going into the season. Dont think that of Carolina as of right now.
The Dolphins ended up playing much better than I had expected. I give kudos to their HC for that one. The GM at the time wasnt doing him any favors.

At least he will have CMAC much better upgrade than ballage

A starting Qb for 20 mil is pretty cheap
Agreed and rightly so why would you pay him more he was on a very good team and benchwarmed most of the year. Plus Carolina looks to be rebuilding he could be a year ahead if he took Miami's offer.

Logical thing to see that he was fortunate when brees went down otherwise another year of dust. Possibly passed over for your boy Tyrod.

Yeah for some reason I thought it was more. Steal.
Not a steal no one in their right mind would pay anything more with that small of a sample size. Only Carolina as they are rebuilding....

Ballage wasn't the starting RB to begin the season you do realize that right? They had Drake as the main man.

because he figured he took that job it would be a career ender.
That is it in a nut shell. The Dolphins offer was like giving up on his career. Take the modest money offered and accept that your at the end of the line. Not a opportunity, but rather a ending to a career. It would of been the easy choice, the cowardly choice. He decided to take the path that gave him a chance to continue his career. That choice was going to be there whether Brees got injured or not. Paid off in spades. Helped that he got the chance to start and made the most of it, but he would had a better opportunity then being a sacrificial player holding a spot for the QB that the Dolphins were going to draft going forward.
FlyerFinFan always act as that isn't or wasn't a for gone conclusion. Which is rubbish to most any other fan of NFL.
What ticks me off is he has the gall to claim it was easier, less challenging to fore go the Dolphins offer. Called him (Bridgewater) a coward. Can't respect a poster that slanders in this fashion, even making allowances for being a homer and all. Just totally uncalled for. Not a bit of remorse to boot. Total ass IMO.

Yes taking a NFL starting job is garbage no opportunity there...come on man that's ridiculous. to say that he would have received a starting job if he benchwarmed all year is pretty damn optimistic. Sure it can happen as it has in the past to a few but to guarantee this especially with his past injuries is ludicrous at best. Some could say that if he took the Fins offer and played like Fitz being still relatively young that he would have been more than a placeholder. Heck they are keeping Fitz for another year and he's old!

Will you just admit Bridgewater made the right decision.

Have to say, I love seeing Philly lose him. Huge from an NFC East perspective

Me too. Think how atrocious our secondary is as of right now. May have been the worst in the league but right now they are without a doubt. We had such a long stretch of great CB play from Eric Allen to Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor to Asante Samuel. Some really excellent safeties with them along the way in Wes Hopkins to Brian Dawkins then Malcolm Jenkins to this. Absolutely NOTHING at LBer, CB or Safety. Really ugly situation.
But on the flip side he was getting 8 million a year with us this year and next. Not into giving potential 34 year old safeties making 8 million a huge pay raise. They just HAVE to start getting younger. Tough situation for Philly because he was the leader of that D and a tremendous part of the community.
