not only that but it would be impossible to add him to LeBron and Davis once DAvis signs his new extension that he will be in line for this offseason (ASSUMING he does).

so pipe dream over.

125M cap - 41M (Lebron's option) - 36M (AD) -5M (Deng buyout) = 43M

looks like Davis would be eligible for at least 5 years 202.

...which includes raises each year. Spotrac has his cap hold in 2021 as 36M, which makes sense as year 2 in a 5 year contract averaging $40.4M.

Id think Davis would be more than 36...

and with the stagnated payroll because of the issues with China the cap is not expected to go up as much as it initially was.

...which impacts the SuperMax also, as it is determined as a percentage of the cap.

Giannis is signed through 20-21

for the 21-22 season LeBron will be making 41 and Davis would be mkaing 38.....

plus you have cap holds for roster spots and draft picks.

PLUS

Los Angeles Lakers 2021-22 Salary Cap

Acccording to Spotrac - Deng is still on the books for '21-'22

Davis at 38, LeBron at 41, deng at 5, plus cap holds--

= no fucking chance

Im questionable about wieseman.

How many centers are making top pick level impact without being either an elite defender or can stretch the floor?

Which is why I think Vernon Carey is underrated right now. Duke isn't letting him shoot much (37% on 19 threes attempted), but he is showing that ability. Pro build already at 6'10, 270 lbs. 17.6 ppg, 8.8 reb, 1.5 blk.

What will Giannis' ext start at? It would be lower for the Lakers than the Bucks overall. Should be similar to AD?

Explained: What is an NBA supermax contract and how does it work?

not only that, but a "supermax is 35% of the cap.

if the cap is projected to be 115 next year- (which is the revised rate)- a super max is STARTING at 40.25 million with 8% increases.

Not sure where they get to 36 in the first year.-- i mean it COULD be right but it doeesnt make sense to me- since i am almost sure that Davis will qualify for a super max at 35% of the cap- a la Steph Curry/Klay etc.

Currently 17th, still think that's too low (unless you're packaging the 2 to trade up?)

it isn't right now (based on mocks i've seen). But i agree it could be.

Boston has 3 firsts this year (MEM, BOS, MIL) AND Romeo Langford. So danny can move around the board to get who he wants.

Missing out on Bertans really hurts this playoff run. But adding a C who can shoot and has 2.2 BLK+STL per game is exactly what they need for now.

They need their own version of PJ Tucker though...

I think that 41M for the 1st season, applies only to Giannis if he resigns with the Bucks and not to AD if he resigns with the Lakers, because AD has changed team, while Giannis has been drafted by the Bucks.

I wonder what the record is for most rostered players throughout an NBA season. Warriors with their rotation of 10 contract will certainly be up there at the end.

Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
D'Angelo Russell
Glenn Robinson
Draymond Green
Willie Cauley-Stein
Alec Burks
Omari Spellman
Jacob Evans
Kevon Looney
Damian Lee
Ky Bowman
Marquese Chriss
Andrew Wiggins
Jordan Poole
Eric Paschall
Alen Smailagic
Dragan Bender
Juan Toscano-Anderson
Zach Norvell
Jeremy Pargo
Mychal Mulder

What about teams that made a ton of trades at the deadline? That's a lot but I have to think some other shit team did the same thing and made a ton of trades to get their total up to 30 or so. 22 is pretty high though

I think they'll end around 26-28.

Obi-Wan.......if the CAvs are more towards 4 or 5 i think he would def. be an interesting option.

He has Dayton at #4!!!

@WiggyRuss
Right now it looks like the worst the Cavs could get is #5 but hoping they get in the top 3...not if they continue to win though lol

So with that projection, who would you like them to target with a top 5 pick?

Right now the top 5 is looking like Edwards, Ball, Toppin, Wiseman and Anthony....BUT the Cavs don't need a PG and if they plan on keeping Sexton they don't need a SG. And if Drummond is in their future plans, they won't need a C lolzzz Not many elite wings in this draft but I guess Edwards could play the 3 OR they could draft Edwards with the plan of moving Sexton. Porter seems like the future 3 though.

I really love this Toppin kid but haven't seen him play much tbh

Everyone is sleeping on Ball though. He's playing in a Pro League right now and averaging 17.0, 6.8apg and 7.6 rpg. His shooting percentages are horrendous though to be fair. Horrendous is actually putting it mildly, he's averaging 37.5% FG and 25% 3pt. BUT, he's got a lot of skill and with him being 6'8" it will help off-set some of his offensive deficiencies. He needs to work on his shot selection too, but he has a lot of upside IMO.

I will just say this...IF the Cavs draft LaMelo Ball this is the LAST STRAW! I give up. Isn't he as skinny as a straw though and he doesn't have great athleticism like other 6'8" guys drafted in the top 3? Idk I just watched him play and I though to myself, how is he a top 3 pick?

He weighs 180. KD was a stick at 6'10" and was 215 and he had way more athleticism than Ball. 25% from 3 is a disaster.
