Give your reflection in the mirror a good long look and know you are seeing a real dick.
I legitimately complimented UT fans for their pregame friendliness and hospitality (twice). I even gave you an out to allow you to take the path of me finding an unfortunate exception.

Instead, you chose to shit on me and continue to do so.

Tennessee's fans have a reputation for being affable... ...Overall, our reputation is one of unshakable faith in our Vols, geniality, and generosity. GBO.

word for word comment from a fellow cane who was near the incident:
Obviously have seen this topic pop up on this board and elsewhere. A few people have tried to clear the record felt it should have its own thread.

I was in the middle of the large mass of people involved in this incident and just giving my take.

First, we did not "attack" the band. I did not see exactly what happened to the band leader specifically, but Miami fans in general were not attacking the band. The UF band were not exactly being polite either. This was going on right in front of the stadium, maybe 100 yards at most from the main exit. The UF band began walking through the mass of thousands of people which was not in a barricaded area (no ropes or cones separating), and expected everyone to just stop and let them all through. Entitled UF fans (band) hard to believe I know. "Everybody just stop because WE want to walk through right now."

Not surprisingly most people (especially Miami fans) were like "wtf?" and just started "pushing" through like what happens when people are trying to move through a crowd. The UF band were more aggressive trying to prevent people from walking through than those that were trying to walk/push their way through imo. When my own 60 year old mother was trying to make her way through, one kid was about to push her and she said "Don't even think about fucking touching me." He didn't. I'm sure incidents like this were happening everywhere.

It's a college football atmosphere things are going to get a little rowdy. Of course we are going to get negative coverage but it is mostly FAKE NEWS. It was two groups of people standing their ground. A few people got roughed up I guess. If this incident happened 10 years ago it's not even news.

They were in parade formation for the record .. according to a Gatorette that was in that line of people.. they weren't willy Nilly walking out of the stadium like is being portrayed in this scenario..
Also who doesn't wait for the band procession to file through?

Well most people do but in this scenario it doesn't sound like that was the case since there were no ropes and barricades it could have been easy to be caught in the middle if someone wasn't aware but of course you wouldn't recognize that because it doesn't meet your agenda which was to judge all hurricane fan's based on this incident which sounds more like a wrong place wrong time than it does a deliberate attack on the band.

Usually, when a band is marching through, the fans/spectators are expected to give way until they pass. Doesn't matter whose band it is. That's common courtesy, even if it may be a bit inconvenient.

The University of Florida Gators marching band was lined up in front of their buses Saturday when an “unruly” crowd exited Camping World Stadium after the season-opener against the University of Miami.

A female Hurricanes fan pushed her way through the students, “battering several of the band members,” according to an Orlando police report released Monday. When director Jay Watkins tried to stop her, he was attacked from behind by a man, the report said.
Watkins, 57, told a bike officer he was grabbed by the neck and thrown to the ground, hitting his head on the pavement.

Although Watkins couldn’t give a description of the people involved, the incident report cited witnesses as saying the man and woman were both UM fans.

The bike officer requested that Watkins be checked out by the Orlando Fire Department but “due to crowd size they were unable to respond until approximately 15 minutes later,” the report said.

Watkins had bumps and scrapes on his head and elbow. He was treated by a paramedic and boarded the bus back to Gainesville. He never lost consciousness or became nauseous, the report said.

“He’s going to be OK,” University of Florida spokesman Steve Orlando said Sunday.

The Orlando Police Department said Watkins declined to press charges but wanted the incident documented in a report.

A bunch of he said she said with no charges filed and no one identified other than "they were Miami fan's".
If gator fan's are too chicken shit to come to future games after this incident because we are "all thugs" it won't hurt my feelings one bit.
