So, let me get this straight. You're watching a goddamn film, and in the middle of the goddamn film, you pause the fucking film to post on some random ass board that you're watching said film (or do you just keep it running while posting- I mean, it doesn't really matter right?)

:L

Goddamnit, I hope all you fucks burn in hell for eternity for the seemingly irreparable damage you've done to society and its relationship to art.

No. It's a 3 and 1/2 movie and I stopped watching because it's a 3 and 1/2 hour long movie in Japanese and I had to do other things.

Watched Zombieland 2 last night. It had its moments but not a movie I'm going to go out of my way to watch again. Glad I waited for it to come out on DVD instead of watching it in theaters.
Agreed. One of those "for the fans" type sequels that doesn't really invest anything into its story. The entire thing was fueled by satire, which resulted in new levels of ridiculousness. Tallahassee & maybe the blonde bimbo (even though her shtick grew tiresome) were the only highlights for me.

Jojo Rabbit

Pleasantly surprised by this film. It was particularly entertaining to see Hitler through the eyes of a brainwashed 10-year-old being played as an imaginary friend; making him an intentionally childish, chummy & foolish character. Perfect way to comically display one of the most vile people in human history that would have otherwise offended the masses. Even the German army (camp counselors) & Nazi gestapo were intentionally displayed as farcical characters so as to show the real horrors or the Third Reich in a gently comedic manner.

Overall it was a quirky & politically-driven film aimed at proving how satirical the entire Nazi party was. A destruction of the fascist way of life sotospeak, or more simply: social justice. What this film does particularly well is gut-punching you with emotion & realism when you least expect it, which brings the fun ride crashing back down to Earth. It also boasts A+ symbolism all throughout the film that gives deeper meaning to a lot of different aspects of this film.

8/10

Prisoners....Last night because I couldn't remember if I'd seen it before. I did and it still makes me uncomfortable.

Woody was definitely the one that carried this movie. Agree about the blonde girl. I feel like she had overstayed her welcome.

Call of the Wild

Ugh, this one is rough. Completely unfaithful to the source material. One change I get because the book was written in a different time. As a whole they gutted the book, Jack London is rolling in his grave.

That bad? My wife wants to go see this one tomorrow. The trailers look kind of hokey to me. Even if we forget about the book.. still bad?

If you didn’t read the book it’s palatable. But what is ironic is the author took such a strong stance that he didn’t make Buck act like a human because he hated being called a ‘nature faker’. And in this film we see Buck show compassion, put others before himself, and even hug other dogs. It is not terrible, but as a fan of the book I was really disappointed with what they did to a classic.

Call of the Wild trailer looked just as bad as Cats to me, imo.
The problem is, Disney was not the company that should have made this movie. I don’t know the rating, but it was basically a PG version when at the least it should have been pg-13.

Joker

Seriously lives up to the hype. Great film.
What I think is crazy is Robert De Niro is a major character and this movie reminds me of Taxi Driver. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but the fact that De Niro is in it almost feels like a wink to the viewer.

Thanks. The trailer looked pretty bad. Call of the Wild and White Fang were two of my favorites.

Have not read White Fang, but love London’s story To Build a Fire. So good.
