I'd love to see a safety, corner and 330 plus lb d tackle

Having said this....I wouldn't mind a TE for the offense.

LSU has lost another two underclassmen to the NFL draft, with tight end Thaddeus Moss and linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson both declaring Friday.

TE rich draft....Kiper has Moss as his 10th TE....wonder if that coiuld be a 3rd or 4th round pick....ummmmm

Glade LSU lost all those players. Maybe next my team, OU, plays them we could come within 30 points. Any way, I agree safety, DT, corner, TE, are needs. But I get scared by the mere mention of TE need with Jerry. Don't need any secord round reaches or sixth round basketball players.

Got to stop being cheap on safety and dt and use high picks. Need more size at DT. Real glad marinelli is gone. He never adapted and too senile to notice we needed that massive 330-340 NT

I was kind of thinking of Moss as well. I think he would fit nicely. When will the Cowboys learn that TE are used in the passing game more than for blocking in today's NFL? . It's about creating deception and mismatches. if you have your "blocking" TE in the game teams know what is coming. When you have Tavon Austin in the game teams know what is coming. I say we let Austin go and roll with Cobb and Pollard in his role. Pollard is going to be a weapon in the new offense

I'm very interested to see this defense, even with the current players, in a very aggressive scheme. That is one of the reasons I wanted Martindale as HC. I think if we blitzed a lot more this year we would have made the playoffs and if you add in a good safety I know we would have. You just can't rely on 4 guys to get home in today's game unless they are an elite group. That Trystan Hill vs Thornhill pick looks like it is going to hurt for a long, long time. How is it that pretty much every fan wanted Thornhill and knew what we should have done there and the team didn't; thanks Marinelli for that one...

I think Jarwin is a great fit for the modern hybrid TE type player and will be a pretty good option that just needs to not be behind a guy like Witten and his numbers will soar. But we don't have a TE worth shit in the running game. We need a TE that is a great blocker on the roster or one that is a better "all around" TE than we currently have and pushes Jarwin to a 3rd down role.

Clemson redshirt junior linebacker Isaiah Simmons, the No. 5 overall prospect in ESPN's Todd McShay latest rankings, officially declared for the NFL draft on Saturday.

This draft is going to be loaded. This pushes another solid player to Dallas at 17

I did not follow college football so am seeing who could possibly be there at 17. Kinlaw or Chaisson from LSU. Chaisson really reminds me of DeMarcus Ware. A beast. Kinlaw is a freak. Kyle Dugger in the second round , kinlaw or chaisson in first. Dugger would be great replacement for Heath

Kinlaw and Delpit are a couple of guys I would love to have and have seen projected to the Cowboys, though bybthe Combine ibfear they both go higher. Either would be a great addition. I'd also be sown with trading #17 to the Jets for Jamal Adams...unless we franchise tag Dak. In that case, its Jake Fromm for me

Our biggest needs remain the same as they have been for 5+ years. Literally read the past 5 draft threads, copy and paste all of our comments and they're still applicable. Not sure why management has such a stick up their ass about DTs and safeties with premier picks.

In truth, despite the talent this team has, there's almost no where on the roster that you could really go wrong spending a high pick.

QB - Even after Dak signs, an upgrade over Rush is needed
RB - One of the few positions I couldn't see it
WR - At first glance it looks good, but Cooper and Cobb are FA's, a stud WR wouldn't hurt at all
TE - I like Jarwin. I'd like him more as a #2
OT - TSmith's back worries me...
OG - With McGovern coming back, pretty good here
C - See OG
DT - Desperate for a big DT.
DE - Quinn is a FA, can never have to many pass rushers
LB - Group looks good, another thumper might make it great
CB - Need a ball hawk desperately
S - If a top S is there is round 1, it's way past time to pull the trigger. I would also offer the 1st to the Jets for Jamal Adams

BPA is always a good strategy. Fill your huge holes in FA and go into the draft with the flexibility to just take the best players. Even if you take a player at a position you have an All Pro at, it allows you to replace that All Pro with a much cheaper player and use those dollars to sure up a weaker position. We reached for Taco and we reached for Hill because we wanted to fill the need and both look like mistakes that have set us back. Good players will find a way to help a team and in this day and age of shuffling guys in and out it is never a problem getting a talented guy on the field. I wouldn't want to see RB in the first but if a guy we have a 1st round grade on drops to the 3rd, why not. If you end up with a stud RB you trade Zeke and use his money on a safety. The only place you normally wouldn't want to go BPA at is Center with Frederick, because unlike OG and OT you can only play one Center but with his health concerns even there you can't go wrong if you love a guy.

Now all else remaining equal and without a guy on the board that has a much higher grade than others I'll hope for DB or pass rusher and if we let Jones go we really have to think DB more than once because counting on Awuzie, Brown and Lewis wouldn't be smart and counting on a draft pick to start and be really good year one is dumb unless you are getting a guy up near the top and we aren't. Always makes me laugh when fans say just replace so and so through the draft like it's that easy and a sure thing

To be clear @UK Cowboy, I wasn't directing the below at you or anyone in particular for that matter. Just always find it funny when some fans just assume you pick a guy in the first couple of rounds and it's a guarantee he starts and worse when they assume it week one of year one...

No problem Bro. I know we really need DT and S, but if a stud WR or OT...or QB... were there, I'm all for it. I remember when Jimmy drafted Steve Walsh, a lot of folks thought he was crazy, he already had Aikman...crazy like a fox

That Walsh trade helped us get one of the baddest men on the planet. I loved Larry Allen. I loved Nate Newton. But give me a healthy Eric Williams and I would pick him every time. I swear that guy was just nasty. I remember William Fuller, an Eagles DE , hit Aikman late one day and got flagged. I swear the next 3 plays big E just mauled that man. I remember Madden kept replaying it on the telecast. Definite Hall of Famer if he would have stayed healthy.

Only way we take a QB in the 1st is if we arent signing Dak Long term.
RB...... We are in agreement. (to much money dedicated to starter)
WR - I am 100% cool with. I seen Huggs as a possible draft pick at 17
TE - hardly ever good with using a 1st on. (highly unlikely that would be a BPA at 17)
OL - I personally never complain at OL in the 1st.
DT - Would love nothing more than to finally find that Bad ass.
DB - see above
the 3 spots I absolutely would not be happy with drafting in the 1st.
QB, RB, or TE
as another thought dont really want to see a LB in the 1st either unless something crazy like Simmons fell to the 17th.
