Awaz Whats the plan? Do we make a trade or do we just win at home and lose on the road and hope that's good enough for a playoff spot

I think they just ride it out. They've been a second half team for as long as I can remember. Guys like Jake, Giroux, Couturier, Ghost, Provorov, Raffl; they've been around long enough to assume that they're part of that as "2nd half players".

Besides, they don't really have a lot of cap flexibility. If I'm looking at Cap Friendly, any deal they make at the deadline would have to send more money out than it brings in. Which isn't typically a 'buy' type of move. I would be open to trading draft picks and some prospects (not York, Farabee, Frost) to add a good rental, but unless things change they won't have cap room to make a trade like that I don't think.

So they're kinda left with trying to get things to mesh and hoping that the 2nd half players thing comes to fruition. They're streaky right now. A lot of the guys they're counting on to play big roles are very young players and are going to be streaky. Plus, as much as I defend them, the vets on the team are very streaky too.

I'm confident they make the playoffs. And I'm confident they give us a good first round. At least.

I will agree with this except i would add Zamula into the prospects i wouldn't trade to add a good rental. If only some team is desperate for a lazy goal scoring forward at the deadline i would make that trade in a hurry as that would clear cap space.

Good add. I don't want to move Zamula either.

Elliot to get the start tonight. Undefeated against Carolina in his career.

They actually have a good start and then shit the bed. Goaltending wasn't great again either. Then have to try to come back again which they did but still lose. It's bloody crazy.

We need some good old home cooking to get back on track.

Yep. I thought they were pretty up and down last night. Aube-Kubel was their best player, which isn't great given the talent levels. I thought Pitlick and Voracek showed some good energy too.

That being said, a save or two more from Elliot and/or that BS disallowed goal being allowed, and they win that game. So it wasn't all bad. And a point is good, something to hopefully build off of.

From the stands, you could see that they came out the last 10 minutes of the 2nd and the first 10 minutes of the 3rd understanding how important it was to get back in to this one. They didn't play fantastic, but the effort level was there, particularly for that 20 minute stretch. I thought they ran out of gas a little at the end, but Sanheim stepped up to get it to OT.

I was halfway through my celebration on Voracek's crossbar in OT.. damn..

Couts and TK were also flying around out there and IMO TK was our best player by a wide margin.

I was getting ready to buy you tickets to all the road games when it was 2-0

Ghost and Hagg an assist and plus 3 each. Please Braun stay hurt for the rest of the year!

Elliot was terrible id say at least three of their goals were on him

Samheim's goal was a beauty and Jake to Raffl was a really nice goal.

Hopefully all that fast paced skating last night didn't tire us out for tonight

This will create some posts;

Matt Niskanen: 5 goals 12 assist 17 points minus 3 making $5.75 million plus 1 million from Gudas for a total of 6.75 million

Radko Gudas 2 goals 12 assists 14 points plus 20 making 1 million

Did we really win this trade in a landslide like its been spoken about on here?
