GREAT win, and without Kuzma. We played sloppy early, hung around, and gutted out a tough win against a really good team

I was going to mention Kuzma, but the Heat were down a few too (Dragic, Winslow, and the seem to be voluntarily playing without Waiters and Johnson).

At the rate the Lakers are going, they will be guaranteed a playoff spot by 60 games

For the third time this season, the Miami Heat have suspended Waiters, the team announced. This time it is for “failure to adhere to team policies, violation of team rules and continued insubordination.” He can return to the team after the game against Utah on Dec. 23 (six games).

All these suspensions are hitting Waiter hard in the pocketbook.

Miami Heat suspend Dion Waiters. Again. - ProBasketballTalk

He's been an issue wherever he's been. The fact that his agent isn't making it public says more about this being on Waiters from the public perception. This is the same franchise (the Heat) that made Gerald Green's situation a few years back on the low; he served a short-term suspension and he was very productive the rest of the year. But Waiters seems to be an ongoing issue.

On a talk show that I listen to, they were talking about whether or not the Lakers should try to take down the Warriors 73 win record.

One guy, who says that barring injury or a significant move by the Lakers, the Clips will win the title, was saying they should.

He said that if Lebron leaves/retires without a title with the Lakers, they'd at least be able to point to that for Lebron having been there.

The other guy was saying that, if it happens organically, fine. But they need to try to be in the best position possible to compete with the Clips in the playoffs, so they shouldn't risk injury/fatigue by going after it.

I tend to agree with the 2nd guy.

Not trying to be a dick, trojan. But you have Lebron and AD on the same team where the league has been as even as it's ever been. If there isn't a title and the closes you get is replicating the '16 Warriors, that's a flat out failure.

Was just talking this week in this thread about how the Kings were turning it around, and then they lose to the Knicks at home. Someone needs to call in a wellness check on @Bolts

Both the Bucks and Lakers are 22-3.

In 15-16 the Warriors started out 24-0 and they had 3 losses at the 36-3 and then 4 losses at the 38-4 mark.

Anyone think one of these teams can make it to 36-3 or 38-4? I highly doubt it but I think the Bucks could.

Next 15 games for Bucks:

Memphis, Cleveland, Knicks, Pacers, Hawks, Magic, Bulls, TWolves, Spurs 2x, Warriors, Kings

Mavs, Lakers, 76ers - games they could definitely lose

They could definitely go 14-1 on that stretch.

The Lakers have a tougher schedule:

Hawks, Pacers, Blazers, Suns, Pelicans, Pistons, Knicks, Thunder, Cavs

Heat, Bucks, Clippers, Nuggets, Mavs 2x - games they could definitely lose

This might be the first time in my life that I watch basketball on Christmas Day

I will patiently wait for you or shaqdaddy to find the poster who said anything about the Lakers schedule being easy in December.

If you guys think playing 14 of 19 against teams under .500 (which the Lakers did in November) is all of sudden not an easy schedule then good for you but the rest of us do think it is easy.

Once again, you can have an easy schedule and still be a good team. You guys are acting like just because a few of us stated facts that the Lakers schedule in November was easy that it means we all of sudden think the Lakers aren't a good team

dang, did I say all that...?

I was laughing with shaqdaddy...

as far as the schedule I kinda subscribe to tf12 position on ot. the competition wasn't the greatest with ALL the games, but it wasn't as bad as some folks believe. and STILL we're better than most THOUGHT we'd be at this point...

I don’t care much about strength of schedule.

I think we can all agree the Lakers aren’t winning 73 games. But the defense has been extremely impressive. Better than I ever thought possible. They are also getting major contributions from some of the fringe guys we weren’t sure about coming in like KCP.

Lakers might not be better than the Clippers or Bucks, but they are definitely for real.

Agree. That's why I wouldn't want them to try to take that record. If it happens organically, cool. But I wouldn't want them making any changes to rotations or anything just to chase that record.

I'd bet the Warriors would trade that record for the '16 title in a heartbeat.
