Oklahoma Sooners
Oh, I forgot to mention that Iowa State is going to fuck them up.

The problem is all the agreements that the bowls have with conferences. Virginia does not deserve to be playing Florida. Notre Dame would have been a better choice.
As I said, when Utah moved to the Pac12 they found the waters much much deeper than before.
Recycling back to the halcyon days of when your Boise team beat Oklahoma on a Statue of Liberty play and a Hook and Lateral are as long gone as Nebraska winning 3 Natty's in 4 years in the 90s.
In a single game setting with nothing to lose, sure, upsets happen. In a week in and week out grind, we've seen what Utah is/was.
Boise had a great run. Your fans should all be proud.
utah went 11-1 this year. seems they can compete.
in a given year a smaller school can also compete for the national championship. smaller schools like boise st that are shut out hurts their recruiting and causes their coaches to go to take jobs at bigger schools. otherwise they might be able to compete with p5 schools on a consistent basis.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter what Notre Dame does or doesn't do, if you aren't a fan of ND you'll hate them... pretty much always![]()
I'm excited for that game, anything beats playing lousy ACC opponents or MAC opponents. Love the Big 10 matchups.I hate them in advance of next year's game. Otherwise, meh.

I am sort of surprised that the Orange Bowl, the ACC and ND didn't work out an agreement to send ND to the Orange as the anchor team and Virginia to the CWB but the ACC keep the Orange Bowl payout and ND the CWB Payout. Florida vs. Notre Dame and Iowa State vs. Virginia would both be excellent match-ups.
they are getting shafted because they are independent. but if they qualify for a bowl, they don't have to share revenue. nowever they also run the risk of getting left out of the big six because they don't belong to a conference.
it seems their financial model is working.
what really needs to happen is a legit playoff being adopted.
I don't hate the Irish. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what Notre Dame does or doesn't do, if you aren't a fan of ND you'll hate them... pretty much always![]()
Yep, I am aware. However, I'm sure that the Orange, ACC and ND could have negotiated something that would work out well for all 3 sides. The only "at-large" teams eligible for the Orange Bowl, by contract, are Notre Dame, a minimum of 2 appearances in
12 years. The SEC, a minimum of 4 appearances in 12 years and the Big10, a minimum of 4 appearances in 12
years. vs The ACC Champ or the ACC rep.
They do have to share revenue if they are selected in place of an ACC team in a Bowl slot. Then they receive a 15th
share of ACC Bowl Money. They do not have to share any bowl income from an Elite 6 bowl game.
I actually don't mind this matchup as much as others, I mean sure a 10-2 ND team it would have been nice to play in a bigger bowl game but its the 1st matchup between Iowa State and Notre Dame so that's always fun.I don't hate the Irish.
fyi: This is a good test for Iowa State. Part of me would rather have them play an easier team for a win, but a victory over ND could catapult Iowa State into what I anticipate to be a really good strong year in contention for the Big Xii Championship in 2020. So, I hope ISU is up for the challenge!

That could be negotiated. Like I suggested, ND could get the marquee game in the Orange vs. Florida, Virginia would get a shooter's chance game in the CWB vs. Iowa State, but ND would still get the CWB money, and UVA (ACC) would still get the Orange Bowl money. Win, win, win, win.I don't believe that for a moment. The ACC would never give up their premier bowl game for even a year. Not even
when their champ was in the playoffs. That's too much money to give away.

No prestige in the Wahoos getting hammered by UF. Glad I am not stuck with those dog tickets this year.Prestige is also involved. Last Year, with the Orange Bowl used as a semi-final, only Clemson was in an elite 6
game. The league cannot afford to be off of TV during all those games, but one.

i was thinking take the top 16, cancel the conference championships, and play round 1 instead.
