2 loss ducks should get in over Baylor. Committee makes a statement and our September’s become a lot more fun. You schedule in the OOC and you will be rewarded. Everybody schedules and then we get a lot clearer picture of how strong conferences are.
not bad in theory, but i don't think it would change the way coaches schedule

I am no Duck fan, but I am wearing a tie-dye t-shirt I bought at the Eugene Saturday Market on my recent trip to Oregon. So, let me say this, CFB is better off with Oregon playing Auburn than not. The Ducks are going to the Rose Bowl as Pac-12 Champions. Not a bad deal at all!
Sure. As FANS we want great OOC games but im talking about the programs. Playing Auburn ooc helps boost your profile but not as much as a playoff berth

Y'all keep bringing up SOS like the committee members understand that silly matrix, much less uses it.

It's a beauty contest. That is it. Nothing more....
Agreed. Strength of schedule metric is nonsense. How do you decide which conference is better between the big 10 and SEC when they only had 1! Cross conference game all season. Purdue/Vandy. The committee is literally guessing who deserves to be 1 between the 3 undefeated teams

And if the committee keeps punishing them they will be forced to. You better go undefeated or you are likely out

Oregon killing Utah could have very well catapulted them into the 4 spot without Auburn on their schedule especially if the Big 12 ship is close

If they would have beat Auburn, they would have likely guaranteed a spot in the playoff. Not scheduling them have left them out with Oklahoma getting it.

And a worse one thsn Baylor. Yet they were still ahead of them . Its not only about your loss.

A 12-1 Oregon would be very much in play for the last playoff spot especially given how they looked last night. Youre lying to yourself if you think otherwise

Baylor has a tougher SOS than Oregon or Utah.

Utah was already ahead of both B12 teams despite a worse resume. Mo reason to think Oregon wouldnt have been too

Utah was ahead to generate conversation and viewers. If both Utah had won and Oklahoma, Oklahoma would’ve very likely jumped Utah unless Utah absolutely dominated and Oklahoma won a close game. Just because Utah was ahead of OU and Baylor doesn’t mean they were going to stay there. That’s what you seem to be basing your whole argument around.

So if a 1 loss Oregon was also ahead of OU and Baylor then beat a 1 loss Utah 37-15 how would you, as a Sooner fan, be feeling right now about your chances? Good? Or bad?

50/50, maybe 60/40. Oklahoma would have beaten top 10 Baylor twice. Once on the road and once at a neutral site and a win over a ranked okie lite. That’s three ranked wins with two being against a top 10 team not at home. Oklahoma probably gets the nod but can’t bitch if they don’t.

A win in either of their losses probably puts Oregon in already because they would have the SOS advantage. However, playing Auburn is not enough to make up one loss when you also schedule Montana and Nevada.

Baylor wont be top 10 if you beat them again. But the point is the same. You feel great today knowing a win gives you a good shot to get in. You feel that way, in part, because Oregon has 2 losses. The loss they couldve avoided is Auburn
