They easily should've replayed both title games.

But the NFL got what it wanted, so they said nothing.

Every single game that is played in every sport has bad calls. It's literally impossible to call a perfect game.

So how far should we go with this?

Should we replay every game that has a bad call? So, all of them?

Should we replay it from the first bad call, the last bad call or just the ones that people complain about?

Then we keep replaying each game from the point of a bad call over and over until all bad calls have been eliminated from the game?

We could have games that last a week....AWESOME!!

I believe the difference is that with a 2 point/3 point shot there is an automatic review. With Harden's dunk there is no automatic review. The coach must challenge the play. In that situation, the coach has 30 seconds to challenge the play.

That makes sense. Looks like they need to fix the rule.

you probably thought the same thing about the Royals in the George Brett pine tar game.

There is a rule against pine tar. There is no rule that allows for that basket to be reviewed in the middle of the period for verification. If the refs didn't see it, so be it. Rule should change to allow for such a review, but that doesn't fix anything now.

it’s more right than completely ignoring it.

The refs gave the Rockets two bonus points in OT, they should've taken advantage of that. Harden gathered a loose ball without establishing both feet back in bounds, which resulted in 2 Rockets points.

Dantoni is allowed to challenege that play.

And he did. And was ignored.

Because his Celtics lost fair and square.

No they did not. Not even close. The video don't lie. But the NBA and their stooges do.

Has to be challenged within a certain time frame (30 seconds?)...and he did not apparently.

which he has disputed.

you would think there would be someone mic'd up to get that issue covered quickly.

but if he did challenge it and they did ignore it, whcih i believe is likely, then that's definitely restart worthy.

You are allowed to challenge that.

It was a challengable play per NBA rules.

Then you shouldn't have a problem finding me a link to support your claim.

As far as I'm aware, there was no call so there was no cause to challenge

"When the play happened, Harden goes in for a dunk, and then the ball appears to us to pop back through the net," crew chief James Capers told a pool reporter. "When that happens, that is basket interference. To have a successful field goal, it must clear the net. We have since come in here and looked at the play. He dunked it so hard that the net carried it back over the rim a second time, so in fact it did clear the net and should have been a successful field goal.

"As to could the play have been reviewed, it is a reviewable matter, but you have a window of 30 seconds to challenge the play during that timeout that he had and while they were protesting the call, trying to get clarification of it, that window passed. So therefore, it elapsed, and they were not able to do it."

"A coach can challenge these types of plays:

  1. Personal foul calls made against his team at any time
  2. Out-of-bounds calls during the first 46 minutes of regulation and first three minutes of overtime
  3. Goaltending/basket interference calls during the first 46 minutes of regulation and first three minutes of overtime"

Silver speaking nonsense to avoid doing the only common sense thing.

timing is literally irrelevant to the mechanics.

it’s either a misapplication or it isn’t.

The common sense thing would be to say "Suck it up, you were winning by 13 points"

Which is pretty much exactly what Silver said
