That's fair, but still. Top 5? I don't see how they've earned it at all.

One thing I look at is how would teams around them be record wise with that schedule? Does Utah beat LSU on the road and UGA on a neutral? I don't think so based on how they've looked in their one game against a ranked team. Do they beat Auburn at home? Probably a toss up. Their SoR is 6th right now. So it's not crazy IMO for them to be at 5. Bama is 5th in SoR, but I've given my reason for why I have UF ahead.

I don't see how you put them ahead of michigan, Wisconsin, or Penn State. All 3 of them have better wins.

If you rank by resume, they really don't have an argument for being over Penn State, though I do think they are a better team than Penn State.

Neither of their losses were at home, and both of them were fairly close losses against the current number 1 and number 4 ranked teams. Michigan has beaten Iowa and Notre Dame, but Auburn is arguably better than both of those teams.

Ask Notre Dame who is tougher between UGA and michigan. I'm not saying rank michigan over UGA, but definitely over Florida.

I mean, ND played UGA more competitively in Athens than Florida did on a neutral field. It's also really based on the Miami and Kentucky games. Those are bad teams, and Florida needed big 4th quarter comebacks against both to win.

Meh, the ND and Florida games were both pretty similar, Georgia was up by multiple scores, then a late score made the score closer than the game actually was(been the story of our season). Those games were also before Franks went down(Franks went down in the Kentucky game, and Trask lead the comeback). They've been a lot better on offense since Trask took over at QB.

You can't do that. That's like saying ask Florida Atlantic who was tougher, UCF or Ohio State. Or saying ask North Carolina who was tougher, Wake Forest or Clemson.

I mean, both OSU and UCF smoked FAU, but I see what you mean on the UNC-Clemson thing. This is all pretty meaningless, none of these teams are making the CFP, I just don't see anything about UF that would lead you to say they're a top 5 team. Trask has been fine, but their only good win of the year isn't as good as several other teams ranked behind them, including teams with fewer losses.

They looked every bit as good as Florida against UGA.

Apparently I facepalmed that. Lol. I took away. Not sure what's happening. But you're probably right. They were similar games.

USC and Auburn I can get, but Texas A&M? Virginia Tech? Oklahoma State? How many 3-4 loss teams ACTUALLY belong in the top 25. I say 2 at most but even then, I don't think they deserve to be in the top 25.
It all depends. I try to rank teams mainly with the idea who I think would win in a neutral site H2H matchup. I don't think losing to multiple top 15ish teams makes you a worse team than a team who's gotten by with a much weaker schedule. Also how you look vs good or bad teams plays apart as well

A lot of the sane people who were complaining about PSU being rankes ahead of Minnesota last week are ranking Michigan ahead of Wisconsin this week.

Of those 3, you pick out Wisconsin to hate?

Wisconsin should in no way be in front of Florida. You are pumping up their win over Michigan while excusing their horrible loss to Illinois.

None of this is shocking though considering all 3 of the teams you are advocating for benefit Ohio state to be pumped up. At it again I see.

Horrible loss to Illinois? Not to say Illinois is good or anything, but it is going bowling, are favored this week and if they then win their bowl game, end up 8-5. It's a loss that Wisconsin should have won, but not horrible.

Florida v Wisconsin in the Cap One bowl will decide it.

Compared to Florida’s two losses to LSU and Georgia Illinois is absolutely awful. That’s where the comparison is.

Florida was extremely lucky to get by two teams worse than Illinois. They also have better wins than Florida. The thumping of what is looking like a pretty solid michigan team is impressive. What has Florida done?

I'm not worried about pumping up OSU either. If we win out, we're probably #1. Regardless, we're in the playoff. Ease up, ralphie.
