We have discussed this.

It is not mechanical.

He can’t read the field and his cognitive skill set just isn’t there. He is a smart guy, but he lacks elite visual processing skills that all the good QBs have.
and you have determined this after 2 games ? and he cant get better at this at all ? he is a bust already ?

every bit of film i have posted on this guy shows he needs improvement but it also shows him reading the field much better

i am not sure what you are seeing but if we draft a qb early then we just added a year to the rebuild if not more to an already 3-5 YR one

No.

I told you he would bust before he played his first game.

And no. I am not saying I want them to draft a QB early unless it the right guy.

But there is no rebuild as long as Snyder and Allen are running the show. So adding a year or 3 doesn’t matter.

But drafting a QB next year would not add to the rebuild because Haskins is a sunk cost. It is what it is. And at least he makes us lose more games every time he starts.

again some more on haskins , now if you still think its not correctable then i think you have a bias which is ok but the film doesnt back your thoughts

Call it what you want. I have my reasons that I know you disagree with, but they are valid.

And I am certain that once this has played out, you will see that I am right.

There is no fix for slow visual processing. Coaches just have to manage a game plan around it if that is your guy. And it usually only works for a short time in the NFL until opposing defenses figure it out.

I just wish you had real evidence of this

Test score over actual tape ?

Tape doesn’t show very many positives in regards to visual processing.

And yes.

If you saw the data and the correlations you would at least not be so quick to dismiss it.

The tape shows he is processing fine , and show me the data so I can see it

This is what I can tell you.

I can tell you that Rosen, Trubisky and Kizer all scored in the very low range with Haskins.

Mahomes, Watson, Jackson, Murray and Josh Allen (he has other issues) all scored exceptionally well.

All the other young QBs drafted recently scored somewhere in between.

It is not a coincidence that the high scoring QBs are performing great, the low end have been terrible and the middle of the road have been up and down.

Again, not a coincidence.

And when next year’s data comes out, I will be able to predict who is going to thrive and who will struggle based on this test. Small sample, I know. But hard to argue. And more convincing than trying to guess what is going through a player’s mind from watching film.

1 more thing too.

My beliefs are grounded in the theory that decision making skills are the single most important trait for an NFL QB.

He needs to have the requisite physical skills to play the position of course, but the reason talent evaluations miss so often on QB prospects is because they haven’t had a way to evaluate the QB’s decision making skills with anything more than a slightly educated guess.

I believe this test absolutely nails that aspect. And if a QB prospect has both the physical and the mental, they are going to succeed. If they only have 1 of the 2, they won’t last.

Decision making skills are the number 1 determinant of NFL QBs. They have to be able to process information and make the correct decision in about 2 seconds and sometimes less.

sorry but until i see the testing methods and how the score was achieved, as well as if the information is even true ( because that is supposed to be confidential ) then i will be skeptical of it

especially when i post film , in actual live games that dispute the assertion that he makes poor decisions the majority of the time .

Well,

If you got a couple hundred grand laying around you can pay for it.

Did I say he makes poor decisions a majority of the time?

No.

But he missed a couple big play opportunities. The top QBs make mistakes sometimes, but they tend to find defensive breakdowns and make the opponent pay. It isn’t just about avoiding negative plays, he has to be able to make enough big plays to keep defenses honest too. If he always checks down because it is safe then he isn’t an effective QB.

And more the 2 games experience won’t clear that up a bit ? Please
