poor substitute in my opinion...but acceptable. Despite what I have said about them though, I will be rooting for Indiana this weekend...since obviously State could not be counted on last weekend...shameful.
The last guy I gave that Avy too had a meltdown and was banned.

RIP Sox

:pound: What so called “top 50” wins does A&M have? I don’t care what any stupid computer says. 4-7 South Carolina and 4-6 Miss State are not “good wins”
Top 50 wins
A&M: Ole Miss, Miss St.
Cincinnati: UCF
Indiana:

So you really believe that Ole Miss and Miss State are "good wins"

Like I said, I dont care what some stupid computer says. You can look at those teams and tell they are not good.

Good? No
Better wins than what Cincinnati and Boise St has? Yes

I guess a better question would be is that do you really think Texas A&M is a "quality team" (like ESPN swears)

I'd have to say no, yea their losses are to good teams, but they way theyve won against the scrubs has not been particularly impressive at all.

We are really arguing about shit teams like Ole Miss and Miss State lol.

I dont know how many times I have to say it but literally nobody has tried to talk up Indiana, yet you got people going to bat for 4-7 and 4-6 teams here.......

That depends on what your definition of quality. Outside the top 15 or so teams, there’s a big drop off and I would call them “average”. So I believe A&M is average and no worst then some of the teams ranked right now

Ok, that goes back to what I said though. Anyone trying to talk up barely average/below average teams as "quality wins" is stupid

People HAVE definitely talked up A&M as "quality" (as I said ESPN was clamoring A&M is a "real stiff test" for UGA multiple times last night)

Literally nobody has ever talked up Indiana in the same lime light, we would be called ridiculous if we did.....yet its acceptable to prop up A&M?

They’re all pretty similar. A&M’s best wins are 4-6 Miss Stake and 4-7 Ole Piss. Cincy’s are 4-6 UCLA and 7-3 UCF. Boise’s are 6-5 Florida State and 8-2 Air Force.

Ironically your team Clemson which is clearly showing as one of the best three teams in the nation, has their best wins against 7-3 A&M and Wake but that’s because their conference blows. Mind blowing to think that those are going to be the best wins that a team so strong will have all season long (including the conference championship game).

Are people still living by the "they are only bad because they have to play in the SEC!" logic? In RE: Ole Miss and Miss State

I wouldn’t take ESPN so serious. I just find it humorous how many jimmies unrank A&M has twisted. Y’all make it seem like they’re the most overrated team in America when they’re not even ranked but have a similar resume as teams 17th-25th

A&M has on its schedule on purpose . Nichols State , Lamar ( not sure if Odom or the kid from revenge of the nerds) , Texas State, UTSA (airport police?). That's some serious schedule manipulation right there. lol. How to assure you're bowl eligible 101.

They did play Clemson, i'll give them that.

People are missing the point here, A&M gets mocked because people actually try to claim them as a "GREAT WIN" (especially when it comes to Bama)

The ridiculousness is proven even more here where we now have people trying to defend A&M by saying they have "GOOD WINS" over 4-7 Ole Miss and 4-6 Miss State teams.

I have no problem with minimum criteria as long as it's well defined. The problem is there are several moving targets to "join a better conference". Many schools without P5 status have plenty big stadiums, many that do have P5 status do not meet the minimum criteria that I have heard spouted for years. This goes for stadium size, academics, research universities, population densities, student population, number of majors, location, etc. etc.

I think if you define the criteria and hold schools to it, they will figure out if they want to achieve those standards. Right now, it's just excuses to maintain the status quo.

A lot of Power-5 teams had the fortune of being "grandfathered in" because they already belonged to top tier conferences before the term "Power-5" came into existence. Even though they lack the overall accomplishments on the football field as Boise St., schools like Central Florida, South Florida & Cincinnati have a better shot at a P-5 invite due to the fact that they can check off multiple boxes on the wish list, especially the Florida schools: large stadiums, good crowds, big cities near existing P-5 teams, in an excellent recruiting area, an ability to play on a pretty decent level, and, in Cincy's case, a good basketball history as well.

The more competitive a team is in multiple sports, the better they look to a possible conference. Academics and institutional compatibility also play a part - as do things like running a clan program and fielding a majority of the same sports as the conference that may be looking at you.

You won't find me defending those guys. I wonder how long it will take before Jimbo Fisher turns them into another has-been FSU replica?

7/8 wins (pre bowl) is their ceiling for the most part anyway. A&M has only had more than 8 regular season wins 3 times since 2000. I'll give it 2 years tops before Jimbo has them 4-8/5-7 and jobless again.

Yeah, but with money to burn thanks to that $75 million guaranteed contract. Clearly the dumbest financial move by any major university.
