Isn’t that what all the major sports leagues do in America?
mall the major sports leagues don’t just play 12 games and have a committee decide who makes it.

The World Champion Washington Nationals were a wildcard ... The 2006 St. Louis Cardinals won their division with an 83-78 record ... and then won the World Series. Anything can happen in the playoffs that is why they are fun to watch.
If a 4 loss team gets in the playoffs ... beat them!!
Every sport doesn’t have a committee choosing who goes. Almost every sport doesn’t have polls used in them. This isn’t every sport. It makes zero sense to send a 5 loss team to a playoff over 1 and 2 loss teams. That’s exactly what his system does.
If you want to insure you get in win your conference ... after that it's out of your hands.
2012 Wisconsin, 2005 FSU
You going to put in a 4 loss conference champ in over them?
You really are a moron, you know?
Oregon's Conference Rankings for Defensive Categories:
Total Defense: 2nd
Scoring Defense: 2nd
Turnovers Gained: 1st
Passing Yards Allowed: 2nd
Rushing Yards Allowed: 2nd
what about the teams that can’t make the conference championship because their division is stacked yet still have a better record, more quality wins and a higher sos? You going to put in a 4 loss conference champ in over them?

I think he's ribbing you. That said, why are you giving us the defensive categories for the Pac 12. Who cares if you have a better defense than Arizona State? Oregon has a good defense, but you should give national rankings since that's what we're talking about.
Oregon's National Rankings for Defensive Categories:
Total Defense: 14th
Scoring Defense: 10th
Turnovers Gained: Tied for 12th with 7 other teams
Passing Yards Allowed: 37th
Rushing Yards Allowed: 11th
3rd Down Defense: 35th
If and when it ever happens, the Committee would have 2 spots remaining to take care of it. Other than that, win your conference. If you can't do that, then you are not the best team in the nation.
Yes. The playoffs are to determine a national championship. If you can't even win your division, you don't deserve a shot at the national championship. Alabama is a great football team (though significantly worse without Tua), but they had their chance against LSU and lost. That's how it works. If Northwestern had won their division and then beat Ohio State, as the B1G champ, they'd have more of a claim that Bama does.
No one on Gods green earth believes NW would beat Bama.
Yes. Win your conference.
Well then, lets just go back to final rankings before the bowls and play exhibition Bowl Games.
No, it won't necessarily be the top 8 teams.
1. P5 Conference Champs get in automatically.
2. Highest Ranked G5 team gets a spot.
3. No Conference gets more than 2 teams in.
So, the Committee gets 5 spots taken out of their hands.
They get to decide the 6th spot for the G5 team thru their rankings.
And the last 2 spots, they can do what they want.
Simple.
Tell me how it's all fucked up.
Your still inviting it to happen. That’s the problem. An those 2 spots might not make up for all the teams this 4 plus loss team would be in over. We’ll use this year, if Virginia Tech (or whomever from the coastal) would beat Clemson in the acc champ game. Under your system 3 loss Virginia Tech would be in over Clemson, maybe a 2 loss Minnesota, the loser of the sec champ game, 1 loss Alabama, a 2 loss Utah/Oregon and a 2 loss OU/Baylor. Does that make any sense?
I don't have an issue with that. Virginia Tech would have earned it. The difference is all those other teams would be losers. At any rate, 8 teams does help that. This year, the playoff would be something like (assuming we say highest ranked G5 is in):
LSU vs. Cincinatti
Ohio State vs. Florida
Clemson vs. Oklahoma
Oregon/Utah vs. Alabama
If Clemson lost to Virginia Tech, then I suspect Florida would be out and Clemson and Virginia Tech would be in (with LSU likely playing VT). I don't see an issue there. I think we can safely say that the best team in the country is one of those 8.
But why? No one on Gods green earth believes NW would beat Bama. You can’t just be giving 4/5 loss teams a chance when they already failed 4 or 5 times before. Scheduling isn’t equal.
