The Skins do not believe Trent. They want to review his records from his doctor visit. A growth and a tumor are 2 totally different diagnosis. Either way, he was offered help, didn't take it and, when he finally decides to visit the doctor he is scared. Something here doesn't add up. I'm sure there is more to come on this one.

I believe this latest news is just typical Dan and Bruce acting like the asses they are. Bruce is just freaking clueless when it comes to handling personnel decisions. I am sure they also don't want to wear the "our medical staff is terrible" rap.

This is hard. We know Bruce and Dan are less than good at their jobs. Most of us love(d) Trent as a player. I think it is a case of both sides offsides. Hard to blame just one side.

So i don't disagree with the vast majority of this, but what are the atypical conditions that Trent finds himself in that he should not have to honor the contract?

A dysfunctional franchise by NFL standards which in effect aren't doing anything in order to maximize profits for themselves and their employees to begin with. I can't be sure about the language in a standard NFL contract, but medical care is provided by the organization, when improper care is deemed detrimental to the employee that could constitute a breach of contract.

All good info Sty, why didn't Trent go to the oncologist that was offered by Snyder? Erin Hawksworth reported that Trent told her Snyder was going to fly him to a leading oncologist.

The answer to your question is, :noidea:!

Specifically, this is a condition handled by a dermatologist early and a team of specialist as it goes from patch to tumor. When Snyder offered that help may have been too late.

Timing is going to play a significant role in how this all shakes out. The questions arising from that will be when was he offered this additional help vs how long after TW received outside diagnosis. At this point, so early in their medical review, timing is everything!

Agreed and Trent made a mention that, Snyder has been great in all this. Huh?

That's actually the angle I expected him to take. Sue for breach of contract. Hell, I wish every player on the team would sue for breach of contract because they are a dysfunctional franchise, by any standard.

It sounds to me that TW's feelings are hurt and he no longer wants to play for Allen. It's the lack of communication from the team, guaranteed money and, "I won't be asking for a dime". Many things said in his interview but the lack of respect shown from Allen has ultimately led TW's to not want to play for this team. He thinks it became a power struggle that ultimately upset him. 6 years ago he said it was brought up. The team informed him to get a 2nd opinion, he didn't. He finally went to a real doctor and the conclusion was some rare form of soft tissue cancer which was removed. So, why are we here today? Fucking money, its always about money, guaranteed of course!!!

TW needs to man up and take responsibility for his only body. This is a non football related medical issue. You cant expect sports medicine doctors to diagnose or treat cancer. You were told to go see a specialist but decided not too. Nowhere wants to blame the team for his mistake. Clearly the cancer are away at his brain, too stupid play the game anymore.

Both sides were to blame here.

Decency would suggest that the skins medical team say, “get that checked out by a dermatologist” at the least, especially if the growth had been there for years, and grown bigger over the years.

TW is to blame because he put his faith in doctors who arent specialized in what he was looking for, didnt get a second opinion despite his tumor growing over five years, and then had the gall to get mad at the team for his own lack of personal responsibility.

There is no doubt that Bruce Allen is being a petty, vindictive bitch, publicly stating that TW is not going to be traded only to dangle him for two days before the deadline. I’m sure TW has that part right.

The Redskins need to fire BW in a bad way, and part ways with TW.

They’ll do neither, and this they continue to be the worst run franchise in DC, and one of the worst run franchises in the NFL.

Oh I think Bruce Allen is the most dysfunctional person on the teams payroll. I also think Dan uses Bruce to play good cop/bad cop. Damned shame because Trent is one hell of a tackle.

I wonder how much of the anger towards Trent is because he's not helping the team in his usual manner?

I think all the anger is because he is not playing.

Standard fan feelings - he is under contract, he should play.

Standard Redskin FO - we could fuck up cooking Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup.

Part of it is Trent didn't help matters going to get a second opinion and if he really felt like he had to sit out or divorce the team he would have been better served to have someone he had trust in to interview him so he could explain. He just opened the door to let Bruce be the ass that he is.

If players want to renegotiate their contract when they have a year remaining, I have no problem. But c'mon, 2 years remaining, I do have a problem. What if Bruce and Dan wanted to renegotiate Alex Smiths final two years of his contract? Do you think Alex would be game?

I also heard Trent was hurt because no one from the team visited him while he was in the hospital. One could argue people lack empathy or TW is an asshole or maybe a little of both. I dunno
