I have been critical of the team during the 3 losses. I Don’t think Dak is worth 30 mil plus a year ability wise, leadership yes, work ethic yes, talent not quite but that’s the rate and with out at least a top 15 QB in the league you become Cleveland over the years with no hope in sight. My fear in paying him you can not have any depth but unless the team can find a sure fire rookie every 4-5 years you have to pay up or roll the big dice and pray not to hit craps. So Dak gets paid end of story except for the price. I am hoping they sign Amari or Dak over the bye week.
Team has a chance If we had lost to Philthy season would not have been over but on severe life support. I just don’t have the faith others seem to have in Red Jesus but that won’t stop me from cheering for success.
Now they need to come out on fire against the Giants on MNF in 2 weeks.

JMHO
IMO, the problem with paying Dak $35 million a year is the same as paying any other player $35 million..its too big a chunk of the pie. Dak is gonna end up making between $350-$400 million over the next decade or so...or nearly two entire years worth or salary cap for an entire 53 man roster. Think about that. And I know the argument is that it's the going rate, but when does it actually work out? Its not an issue for New England because Brady plays at a discount(and before anyone brings up Brady's rich wife, Dak is making $50 million per year in endorsments). The Packers paid Rodgers and they havent done anything in the last ten years. The Seahawks paid Wilson and then gad to dismantle and rebuild their Super Bowl teams. Brees got paid and then the team cut stars and had to rebuild. And those are truly great QB's . Eagles paid Wentz.. How's that looking? Cousins got paid, not good. Goff.. We'll see. Matt Ryan..Coach about to get fired. Our team is 4-3 right now with at least one top 10 talent at QB, RB, WR, OT, OG, C, DE, ILB, OLB and CB. I can understand why the Cowboys are trying so hard to keep the number around $30

Film analysis says they are both great QBs and are very comparable and similar. Advanced metrics say Dak has been better since 2016. But it would be ignorant to go by just stats. Just as it is just as ignorant to just go by the eye test, which you obviously do because you provide no evidence other than your opinion. Your opinion is only based on what you see. But as you've shown on this board for years, you have no clue of processing what you see. You thought Jaylon and Byron deserved to get paid based off of one year and argued against paying Dak. Your ignorance rests my case.
Maybe everyone needs to think like you do to be a real fan Earl. Hell, I'm game. Sure, Dak is just as good as Russell Wilson. While we are at it, Michael Gallup is just as good as Julio Jones. Chris Covington is as good as Aaron Donald. Jeff Heath is a little better than Earl Thomas. Why not...

This argument about Dak being this or that is ridiculous. @PDay8810 nailed it. He works hard and is a good leader. That is good enough for me as well.
What do you guys get out of arguing back and forth? Sound like kids just talking for the sake of it. @Earl Stevens you keep setting yourself up and you can't see that some like pulling your string. Just enjoy Dak the way he plays. I think most of us do.

I love the kid. Just love him. I will get pissed when he makes a bad or dumb throw but jeeze every QB does that. Like a Witten fumble, pisses you off when it happens but I will take that kind of bad with all the good that comes with it.

Exactly and there is nothing wrong with pointing out both the good and the bad on a message board about the team. That's what it's here for, isn't it?

The pick was absolutely a stupid decision IMO. I'm kind of surprised to hear anyone think otherwise. That of course doesn't mean Dak wasn't fantastic last night, but that one play? Why would you throw that? I'm sure Dak would agree it was a mistake and he looked like he wanted it back right afterwards

100% agree here. I was pissed before he even threw it. At the point up by 20 with 12 minutes remaining, eating up a few precious minutes and maybe adding 3 points is more important than any deep pass.

I was at the game Sunday night, and I saw a good game by Dak absent his pick in double coverage. Dallas got back to its identity to run first and then be able to set up the pass. Pleased with Dak’s efficient game but that is what he does best. Amari helped tremendously and so did Witten and so did the oline. When they are clicking Dak looks good to great. The issue is when the full compliment is not there, then we are in a bit of trouble. Pay Dak but don’t overpay him. He is making a ton in sponsorships by associations and he more than anybody else should realize he needs complimentary pieces. He will not make receivers great like Brady, Rodgers, Wilson and others do. He needs great wide receivers. As for Big Red, he had the team ready and focused for a big home game and saves his job for another day but so infuriating that we lost the Jets game after seeing the dude they laid against the Patriots. We should not have lost to that team. That was on Big Red and the coaches. Finally, this team needs to really consider a trade to updgrade the. safety position if we are challenging at the end of the year. Heath plays hard but he just does not have the tools.

I was OK with the play call and going for the kill. My point was you take a look and if it isn't open you just don't throw it. Ball security in that situation is Football 101. Up big, in FG range, double coverage to a guy maybe 5'10", just a head scratcher.

Exactly, It was a dumb decision to make that throw, no two ways about it. Double coverage to the smallest receiver on the team. However, it happens sometimes. Not going to beat him up over one bad play. That throw to Amari was great by Dak.

Both throws down the field to Amari were fantastic. I think just as far as accuracy goes, maybe there were some not "perfect" passes like the one behind Gallup, but did he really have any throws where you watched it and thought it was really inaccurate? I can't think of any from last week. Did anything even hit the ground without being touched that wasn't thrown away?

I still don't like the call. I could see calling it with the stipulation you only throw it if wide open, but even an incomplete played into the Eagles favor.

I think we can all agree on one fundamental point... if the defense can play like that every Sunday (and random Thursdays & Mondays), this is a completely different football team than the one in Weeks 4-6. The entire complexion of this team changes if we are generating turnovers and getting QB pressure.

Lots of good things need to happen on those big plays down the field. The receiver needs to get open. The OL needs to keep the pocket clean and Dak needs to make a good throw. Well that finally happened again and a large part was the return of Smith and Collins. The previous two games and especially against the jets Dak really did not have time. The backup tackles just were not great against the Jets and dak took the biggest shots of his career so far. Still that was a game the cowboys should have won and would have if the defense had shown up
