I blast who I think deserves to be blasted. And just because I'm saying they're not playing well, doesn't mean I want them traded or that they're awful players. I still want to keep the core of the team, Jake included. That hasn't changed. Jake needs to play better. And I never said G, Ghost, and JvR didn't need to play better, because they do too. But you've got them covered.

But I'm also willing to look beyond one bad game. They started this season pretty well so far. They flat out dominated in 7 of their first 9 periods of play this season. Last night, they sucked. It probably won't be the last game where they suck. That's hockey. And like clockwork, the next time they suck, you'll be all over the board bitching about JvR and Giroux. I'm sure it won't even matter what they've done between off games, because as long as JvR and Giroux are on the team you will hate them and blame them for everything that ails the Flyers.

Tonight will be an interesting one, the Oilers have started on fire, the Flyers have had a tough travel schedule to start and are on a back to back. I expect they'll need some Hart brilliance to keep them in it, and hopefully they can get a few shining moments to get enough offense to win the game or at least get a point out of it.

As ive stated many times before he is not worth keeping even with his 80-100 points because we have missed the playoffs 4 out of the last 7 years with him on the team so what is the benefit of just standing pat with our vets/stars.

Hockey is such a unique sport. Whether it's G, or Ovi or Crysby, they are only on the ice for around 1/3 of the game. The supporting cast is enormously critical to get the Cup.

Coach sends messages with ice time. Hakstol didn't have the balls to sit (reduce ice time) of his highest paid players. AV is showing he does.

I agree with others - flyers were a shit show last night except for Elliott. I won't even panic after tonight. I thought they'd be lucky to get through this first part of schedule (5 games) with 2 wins just taking the brutal travel into account. They have those 2 wins plus an OTL. After 10 games at less than a point per game, it will be panic mode.

Plays against top lines and kills penalties and if you are strictly using +/- the forwards sure aren't helping in that area are they? Can you imagine where AMac would be right now playing in his spot or one of the young guys with no experience.

Overall factor in that they were in Europe now west coast schedule a little nuts to start. Except for tonights game they've been in them with their top scorers absent... they'll get it going.

Yep. Team had it going for the first half, just couldn’t finish. McDavid gets loose for one chance, makes it 3-1. Team collapses. With the schedule, the back to back, the frustration of not being able to score. Had to know a collapse was coming if Edmonton got the next goal.

Bottom line is that this is the same trend year after year where a pro team can't get up for a game. I don't know what motivates this squad but I don't think it's hockey.
