My apologies if anyone feels this is a SEC Rant, it is not, im a fan of College football as a whole regardless of conference alignment. I just see this particular thing as a spit in the face to other teams who actually deserved to have a number by their name other than A&M.
Screw it if someone does get their feelings hurt. Call a damn spade a spade. You laid out your argument and I can’t think of a defensible counterpoint even for the sake of playing devil’s advocate.

What is Clemson's big win?

Funny Stat:
Not one team Clemson beat this year has a winning record.

It's true, look it up!

NC took them to the wire too. A NC team that beat SC who just beat #3 Georgia (which was really odd), however thats a strawman argument im not willing to back up on any given day.

I agree with you that they should've been out, especially after the Arkansas game . Im just not sure if there's enough voters that think " hey, we need to keep am ranked for bama's sake"

And nobody cares that Alabama beat A&M when they were ranked #24. Just does not matter at all. FWIW, Alabama won @ South Carolina a few weeks ago. I bet Georgia wishes they had a win over South Carolina! lol.

Before the year is over, Alabama is going to be tested. They will either pass or fail. LSU, @ Auburn and the SEC Championship Game (if they get there) will all be ball busters. If they don't get there, it will not matter.

So, on to next week!

I feel what your saying. Either Bama is not as good as they have been in the past 4 years or the other teams (Auburn, LSU, Georgia) has finally caught up. It doesn't feel that Bama is swinging with as much confidence like they have in the past.

What difference does it make? The fact that they had the magic # 24 next to their name doesn't help Alabama anymore than the magic # they had by their name when Auburn and Clemson beat them either. Bottom line is that Clemson, Auburn and Alabama all beat Texas A&M which is 3-3 at this point. Equally good or equally bad.

Ah but it does matter. Not just for the fans but the players and schools as well. For some schools who dont always get up there with a # by their name makes all the difference on gameday. It brings out school spirit, motivation for the team, and a whole lot more meaning to some of the schools. To see a team who only got it for merely being in the SEC and to give a boost to a games meaning than it should spits in the face at others who deserved it more.

*EDIT - case in point look at SMU

I think it is a little of both! Alabama definitely does not have an Alabama Championship level defense + LSU looks 2011 level good but with more emphasis on offense than defense, Auburn is not 2010 or 2013 Good, but they are a hard nut and capable of winning like 2017. Georgia is Georgia. Florida is not Tebow Era Good, but they are better than they were when Alabama last played them in the SEC CG in 2015 and 2016. Personally, I think Alabama will end up with 2 or 3 losses. Even if they beat LSU, I can see them losing @ Auburn and the SEC CG is a crap shoot. If they are fortunate enough to make the playoffs, I think they go down in the semis this year. Tua and Co are GREAT, but they have leaks in the boat this year elsewhere.

There is no just in case this year. The schedule sucks outside of LSU, @ Auburn and SEC CCG. They will not get in if they are 11-1 and do not make it to Atlanta OR if they lose in Atlanta. Plus, that's a real reach trying to say that beating a team that was ranked #24 in Week 6 that finishes (6-6) is going to help them. lol. That's tin hat stuff IMO. It won't help Clemson or Auburn either who played A&M when they were ranked higher.

Personally, the team im watching out for is Wisky, i know they havent played any hard hitters yet but all the teams they have played they have absolutely destroyed and have only given up 29 points in 6 games. I know its still a stretch considering who they have played but like i said, they have absolutely destroyed all those teams.

I can see Bama either squeaking by this year by **** hairs or they get beat a few times and miss out in the CCG.

Oh, I get that, but it is more of "It's a shame" than having any real bearing on whether Alabama makes or does not make the Playoffs. What will matter in that department is whether A&M starts winning games or not. Either way, A&M will not be ranked this week!

Wisconsin is nasty good on defense. 4 shutouts is nothing to sneeze about. I absolutely, positively cannot wait for the Wisconsin @ Ohio State game! It should be high level stuff!

I 100% get what your saying, i still feel that it was absolutely unnecessary to put A&M in that position other than to boost the game and give Bama some props this week.

I mean what if a&m somehow beats uga or LSU? It will come up. They use these arguments like when they beat "#3" Florida state
