Absolutely right. I think targeting should only be used for players using their heads like a weapon. It should be extremely rare. But dumbass refs award it for every little thing. Neither of those were targeting. One was incidental, and the other was a clean hit where some stupid QB lowered his head. He deserved to get rocked.

It wasn't aiming it was the QB on a late slide and the second one was the QB being drug down on the hurdle. Classic wrong call by the refs.

I can’t blame them for making it harder on these type of hits. Way too many head and neck injuries leaving permanent damage. I’d rather see guys like Brees, Brady, and Big Ben play 15+ high quality seasons, than go back to the time when most star QB’s played 6-8 seasons, and had brain damage.
