He has all the leverage from a monetary perspective. The only way Zeke can even begin to believe he has some kind of leverage if he is willing to lose money and so far it appears that he is willing to do so. I think a lot of that has to do with the Cowboys history of dealing with running backs. I saw earlier today that under Jerry Jones the Cowboys have only given 2 running backs second contracts and they were Emmitt Smith and Marion Barber. Zeke is more than likely not willing the Cowboys to do right by him.
Yes he is under contract and I understand the argument that he should honor the contract. The problem with all of that for me is the owners don't have to honor contracts and people think that is just fine.
Bold is wrong. They do honor the contract or they would get sued. How do you philly fans not get this? The owners 100% abide by the terms of the contract that all parties (meaning the player as well) agree to.
