No, there were others in attendance. But it was a great opportunity for a bunch of us to get together. Many of us have known each other on "the board" for years, and off "the board" as well. Many of us had already met in person before as well. Some of us keep in pretty close contact, it's possible to make actual friends online - especially if you're not a dick.Sooooo
This was a wedding where the only people attending were rivals posters?
Did the bride and groom meet off the Internet too? Seems ok.. a bit weird but hey it’s that kinda world we live in

As far as the bride and groom - they were each others' first loves - childhood sweethearts. Life took them in different directions and they reunited years later. It's actually a very cool story, but it's @OldDevilDawg story to tell.
He'll just report from a new one
Ill have some of that shit!!!Important life update that I would like to share with this board. As everyone knows, I eat, sleep, and breath all things UCF. UCF is a part of almost all decisions I make either directly or indirectly. Back in 2010 I bought my UCFirst house that’s literally a brisk jog from the campus. Living here the last 9 years has been more UCFulfilling than I ever imagined.
But I’ve been going back and UCForth the last couple years about maximing the growth in the real estate market and selling my house. I bought it when the market crashed very low, and the opportunity to sell high is very tempting. This and with my job not being the best commute from my house, seems to make all the sense in the world. Except I always come back to one thing. UCF.
Earlier in the offseason I met with Coach Heup and he could tell I wasn’t myself. I explained to him my dilemma. I want to set up my UCFuture, but not being close to the campus was weighing on me. What if the team needed me? The coaches? I'll still be able to attend practice on a regular basis, but not the impromptu workouts and UCFilm sessions.
As I explained this to him, he interrupted and said “Honors, you have put this university and this teams need ahead of yours for years now. It’s time you UCFinally take care of yourself. We got this.”
I instantly UCFelt the weight of the world come off my shoulders. So my house sold last week and I’m living much closer to work. I’m really excited for what’s to come, but we’re still a month out from UCFootball. I know when practice starts, I’ll struggle again with this and not being there as often as I’m accustomed to.
Once again, I was able to count on UCF to point me in the direction I needed to go in my life. As always, it’s a great day to be a Knight. Charge on!

At the wedding? No, he was invited. A lot of the people there didn't think he'd come. And to be honest, a few were wishing he wouldn't come. At the end of the day, I think all, except perhaps one, were glad he came.I’m with you. Just wondering. So the UCFool was there on a dare?

My wife and I were friends 40 years ago. Our Dads worked together. We were tree climbing buddies before either of us even knew what hormones were. We have the same birthday only I am 1 year older. Life took us in separate directions many years ago. We reconnected about 6 years ago and it was like we were never separated. That childhood love and friendship was just as perfect as it was way back then. Both of our Moms said the day we got married last year that they expected us to end up married a long time ago.
I'll be there too!! I like going to Ames . Less insanity there than IC lolIt's been challenging during my diaspora! However, I am now just 28 miles and 1 county away. I bought a season ticket and look forward to making most of the games. I have a conflict on Opening Weekend - so, I will make my HC debut in the Cy-Hawk Game on 9/14!
I've met 8 or 9 posters over the years. Still hang out with one on occasion, and see another one often during hockey season.Im sure when you get people together face to face after years of talking on a message board it’s mostly really funny.
I’ve met a dude on here from the Rams board. We’ve been posting since CBS days around 2003. Good dude
I’d love to meet some of these clowns around Dallas and have some beers. Be funny shit for sure

@ralphiewvu it's all true. We had a live thread for a long weekend going down to see @OldDevilDawg ’s wedding. It was one of the more memorable, bizarre, fun, weekends anybody could ask for. To kickstart the weekend in true Rivals fashion @Nod4Eight gets wasted and jumps off the breezeway roof at the hotel in cowboy boots shattering his ankle. @UCFhonors being the hero he is drove him through the night to a hospital an hour away, in true fashion got Nod some Taco Bell on the way back to cheer him up. Like I said, a gentleman and scholar.
Later that night Sloopy and his bikini model arrive to a shit face crowd of hooligans. Our friends get back from the hospital and we all got back to drinking as we cheers to meeting for the first time. @UCFhonors called out a fellow poster 5x his size and a fight broke out. The bride to be saved the day and got on the table and gave a verbal ass whipping ending with “I may not win the fight but you’re going to know I was there”.
I could go on but you’re not privileged enough to know more details. But the shenanigans did involve a resident raccoon, redneck games, hold my beer dares, piss your pants laughing, tears, fights, legendary football talks, drunk history debates, more drinking, open pit grilling, a wedding, golf shots over posters heads, ODD forgot to go to bed the night before he got married drinking and talking to sun up, and so much more.
