Washington's SOS won't finish within 10 spots of this.

Yeah, you're right, how could I doubt Eastern Washington, BYU and Hawaii, along with a Charmin' soft Pac-12 schedule...

That is so much better than Georgia State, BYU, UAB and Chattanooga....and an SEC slate that includes Alabama, Florida and Georgia...teams that all finished ahead of Washington last year, hell, fucking Kentucky finished ahead of Washington last year. Meanwhile Washington plays one team that finished in the AP top 25...you go girl, fierce.

You know how Pac-12 teams avoid playing good teams...by playing 9 Pac-12 teams....We could play 5 conference games and still have a better chance of playing a quality opponent.

Exactly, since you were the only one not including bowl games in the ranking we are agreed, it was nonsense.
You would be including bowl designs by using post bowl rankings... If you are specifying regular season as EOY. The EOY rankings would be regular season. Otherwise you already stated Washington beat Nebraska who finished EOY ranked. Or you use the EOY rankings pre post season.Otherwise it’s just shifting goal posts to suit an agenda. And your rankings hold as much weight as pre season rankings...

FWIW great media day by Saban. Gotta love his desire to see more conference games and a higher competition level. Gotta respect wanting to go 9 conference games. Very well spoken

LOL, did any of that mental gymnastics make sense when you wrote it.

I used EOY rankings...you know from after the bowls, for each and every statement I made.

I said that Washington had not beaten a ranked regular season OOC opponent in now 6521 days...true.

I also said that Washington had only beaten one ranked OOC opponent period...Nebraska in 2010...although they also got clubbed like a baby seal by them in the regular season....also true.

The comment was about scheduled opponents...hence the reason I focused on regular season futility when I was mocking Washington.

Both of these statements were based on EOY after bowl rankings because that's what normal people do.

Yes put think about some of the Power 5 teams. If you schedule Duke, Wake Forest, Indiana, Syracuse, Vandy, Baylor, Rutgers, Iowa State, Washington State, etc. You expect that these teams most years will suck ass. If you schedule teams like Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, etc. You expect those teams will be tough opponents.

90% of the time you would be correct. USC knew that Minnesota and Syracuse would probably not be good based on their program trajectory and history but it was a way to brag about having a Power 5 team on their schedule, even if that Power 5 team would probably struggle to finish in the upper half of Conf USA.

My point was USC scheduled Minn and Syracuse and while theres a good chance it's a win there's a chance that it could be at least a game and what you're leaving out is most of the time USC will travel across the country to play these kinda games (Boston College), You can't compare that to scheduling Citadel and Chattanooga and Towsend and North Dakota State , Western Carolina, and Mercer type (guess who schedules these teams every season) at home every single time.
Just to make that point in the cpl seasons before playing USC the seasons they played USC and maybe two seasons after, Minn and Syracuse beat
#18 Louisville
#9 Louisville
#20 West Virginia
#24 Iowa (twice)
#24 Nebraska
as well as Notre dame, Pitt Penn State ,Indiana, Missoiri, Michigan State , Northwestern (2),Purdue

Now you tell me how many teams that compare to these did Citadel, Chattanooga, Mercer , Western Carolina, Towsend beat. I will even give you from 2008 till now so thats about 12 extra years. Please give me that wonderful list.
If there's not much of a difference your list should compare favorably especially since I'm using two teams and I gave you five.

He says it because He knows damn well the other schools wont vote for it. He might as well say he's in favor of 10 conference games because it's got about the same chance.
Saban-"I want a tougher schedule"
Also Saban- " can we get a bye then Citadel in November"

If that's true, fair enough. I just see it as hypocritical by USC and their chest pounding over the last twenty years.

lol

What chest pounding? I rarely see USC fans bring this up unless someone else does.

What we do brag about is not being afraid to play tougher OOC opponents and being willing to travel to do it.

Well they have been playing the holier than everyone over not playing FCS teams.

They are always bragging about how they don't stoop to the SEC level of scheduling FCS, first off. Mean while, the rest of the PAC does.
And if you don't think they're the most arrogant fan base in the country, you don't know any alumni.

Awfully vague. I'm sure you each have lots of links to back this up.

Remember that time USC finished with a higher SOS than a Saban led Alabama team...yeah, nobody else does either. The Pac-12 used to be USC and the eleven dwarfs, now it's just 12 dwarfs.

I wish there were fewer games between FCS & FBS teams. I wouldn't want them to go away completely, because I know some of those FCS schools rely on the income to help keep their programs afloat. I wish the Power-5 leagues would institute a policy that would prevent their teams from scheduling FCS teams in consecutive seasons. That would be a good start.

I get that argument and I know that some programs may not be able to exist if not for the payday from a P5 program.

On the other hand, if they are depending on that to stay afloat, maybe getting rid of the program isn't a bad idea? :noidea:

I really like the idea of not being allowed to schedule them in consecutive seasons. That seems like a fair compromise.

Bwahaha!!

The fact that you asked that is laughable. USC alums are the are, in all honesty, the most arrogant base I have encounter. I sit 30 feet from one and his snootiness or entitlement is hilarious.

It’s really quite simple I’m not going to continue breaking it down for you. If you’re going to run a formula run it correctly or it’s a false stat by nature....Nor does it make sense to fixate on Udubs in a thread about SC scheduling their first FCS opponent.

Should probably start an SEC media day thread tho. Saban was on point from raising the competitive bar on a 9 game schedule. While discussing the need for more competition in conference. Down to watered down scheduling under an 8 game conf schedule. And meaninglesss games and “6-6” bowl teams backing in bowl games. Gotta give Saban props.

On topic SC scheduling FCS is nothing more than an example. Of said watered down schedules becoming more common under the current watered down format and play off selection system/format.May not like it but good on SC for making a statement by doing so.Tbh ND and UCLA should follow suit

You must be new to college football. There is no way you could be serious otherwise.

Than that would be on the other teams. Bama doesn’t need to lean on conference. The reason the others won’t vote in favor of a 9 game schedule. Would be they have too much to lose and need to ride the conference.

So you sit 30 feet from one and that makes all USC alumni arrogant?

I've seen some pretty delusional and entitled posts from more than one Boise fan, especially when Petersen was there.

I guess that means that all Boise fans are delusional and entitled.

So you don't have anything to back it up. Well, except for that one that sits 30 feet from you.

Just as I thought.

Good talk though.

And if following USC and college football since 1970 makes me "new to college football", then I guess I'm new. lol

Mmm k, punkin. You just live in denial. I really don't care as I stand by my opinion. No body said you had to like it.
