Fight For The Fallen airs this Saturday night from Jacksonville, Florida on Bleacher Report Live (Free) in the United States and Canada. Fans outside of the U.S. and Canada can order the show on FITE TV.

Here is the thing for me.

I COULD pay the 50$ to see it but I'm working till 7:30 and it starts at 4:00 my time. I couldn't watch it live and can't DVR it because TELUS doesn't do AEW.

They say that Chris Jericho is getting a live mike for the whole event. That might be worth making time to watch it.

Fight For The Fallen was a decently entertaining show. Too long for a charity show though imo (basically 4 hrs, could have cut some matches). If you missed it, I'd recommend the 6 man tag match and the tag team 3 way (Jungle Boy/Luchasaurus are gonna be stars)

I gotta complaint though from AEW's shows so far; the commentary team sucks ass. Excalibur is good, but JR and Alex Marvez can't hack it.

I think Marvez is the weak link in the commentary team. Although I don’t know if this was on purpose or not but I noticed JR calling Jungle Boy by his real name a few times last night. Was that his way adding depth to him or something? :noidea:
I skipped the preshow because Sonny Kiss just isn’t my thing and didn’t have an interest in the woman’s tag. Was upset that MJF didn’t get a live mic as that guy is a phenomenal heel. But did like how they teased the tension between him and Spears throughout the match. I left off after the 3 way tag and was going to finish watching this, along with the G1 later today.

I noticed JR referring to Jungle Boy by his real name as well. Speculation on my part but it might have something to do with him being the son of a famous actor; this is JRs way of letting the casual audience know Jungle Boy is the AEW wrestler related to Luke Perry.

It's also kind of shocking that Luchasauras wasn't already snatched up by NXT. His size, look and athleticism would be a perfect fit for the WWE.

As far as the announce team I like JR and Excalibur but in more limited roles. They keep alluding to Marvez in an insider role, maybe he becomes a backstage reporter/interviewer. They really need a young but experienced announcer to do the heavy lifting on the broadcast for JR and Excalibur.

The roster is starting to shape up as the elite is over and some midcarders are getting momentum (boy and his dinosaur, MJF, Darby Allin, et al.) I still think they need some star power poached from the WWE to go along with Jericho and Moxley in the main event scene.

There are some links floating around called Media scrum. Jericho basically said he always had scripted promos in WWE, had to memorize them and could not alter them in any way. When they get to the point where he tells us he does not even relate to Y2J anymore it seems like he is going out of his way to make sure everyone knows this is finally the real him. In a way, it sure gave a ton of credit to Vince for making him who he was if you think about it.

Fun facts: He was with their developmental system a few years back when it was FCW and right as they switched the name to NXT. But for whatever reason, they let him go. He was also one of the wrestlers that spoke out about Bill DeMott (Hugh Morris) being an abusive instructor which ultimately got DeMott fired.

But yeah, I'm surprised he hasn't been a bigger name until now. Apparently he's been doing indies (especially in California) for awhile. I remember reading his name here or there, but that's it. First time I saw him was in a few clips a couple of years ago and then in ROH over the last year. But ROH, as is becoming pretty routine for them, didn't really do anything to highlight him and instead just trotted him out there for random standard matches where he didn't really get a chance to showcase himself. But since he's been with AEW, he's really starting to shine. From the various Youtube series AEW does to the matches, he's shown a lot of personality and talent.

His career took off after he was on the reality show Big Brother. Pretty much right after that is when he started with Lucha Underground and he became a bigger name on the indies.

That's even more surprising that WWE would let go of someone that big and that athletic from their developmental system. Seems like someone they would normally groom for a top spot on the main roster but maybe there were other issues.

Well they did a release him after a severe hip injury so maybe they thought he would be a risk going forward. We’ve seen talented people have their careers derailed by major injuries before, just look at Ricky Steamboat Jr.

First episode of the Road To All Out series. FYI, if you haven't been watching the "Road to" series for the PPVs, I'd recommend you do. Since they don't have a TV show yet, they've been doing most of the set up and storytelling for the matches in these youtube series.

I went back, about a year ago, and started watching NXT from "the beginning" (Full Sail era) and stopped right after Paige won the NXT Women's championship against Emma. That being said...man was I picking up what Richie Steamboat was puttin' down. His feud with Kassius Ohno was a particular highlight for me. It's just a shame his career got derailed the same way his dad's did.

Punk should have a system set up that fines every person 100 dollars each time they ask him if he's going to AEW

If Punk stays retired from wrestling it'll be the most money left on the table by a healthy wrestler in the prime of their career. Even Goldberg who's the closest comparison I can think of came back for a couple runs in his late 40s early 50s. I have to see Punk away from AEW at least through all of 2020 before I believe he's actually done.

Possible news of note;

PAC lost the Dragongate title this past weekend.

If you remember, the reason he was pulled from Double or Nothing was he didn't want to take losses as long as he was Dragongate champ which conflicted with AEW's long term booking plan. Now that he's lost, it could clear the way for him to join AEW full time

Oh good...another boo-boo faced former WWE star who'll claim AEW doesn't want WWE to die yesterday. Then follow it up by shitting on WWE.

Wash..rinse..repeat.

The last two shows were hit and miss but the hype promo packages are always fantastic. I was lukewarm on Dillinger (the 10 gimmick did nothing for me) but between his booking and these promo videos I'm actually looking forward to his match at All Out. I appreciate the "good hand" reference in the feud. It's an obvious "smart" reference but also subtle enough that it actually makes sense in a general storyline.

It's a ways off but AEW has announced a couple of matches for their first TV show on Oct. The one that's most intriguing though is The Bucks and Kenny Omega vs Jericho and 2 Mystery Partners. What's intriguing about it is Jericho is intimating that his partners aren't currently on AEW's roster.
