Isn't it common sense to say you need to draft well, trade well, and sign FAs well? At least 2 out of 3...

And of course you need luck.

I would think so.

But then the Lakers singlehandedly ruin Wiggy’s case.

Because he has criticized how portly they have drafted. Then I believe he might have criticized the Lakers for giving so much in the AD trade. And he also said FAs would not want to play with LeBron and has criticized some of the signings they made this summer.

For the record, if I have to pick how, I don’t think they will win this season. But they are clearly on the short list of favorites. And Wiggy has argued recently that they have done all 3 of those things poorly.

Wiggy has lost a lot of cred lately. Not just this week but pretty much ever since the Finals his posts have been almost uniformly awful. It's not fun, I prefer my trolls to at least be challenging.

As a Thunder fan, it is very difficult to see any brightside to losing all the talent we've had at one time or another.

But in some strange way...personally, the release of Russ feels like the Ancient Mariner as the albatross finally falls from his neck.

Onward and upward...gotta have faith in Presti and Donovan. Billy doesn't have the Diva Syndrome as a crutch any longer so lets see what he can do with a TEAM.

Thunder are going to be stuck with CP3 for the next 2 seasons it seems

OKC has so many 1st rounders that I think a team hoping to make a leap to the Finals might bite and make a deal for him at the deadline. CP3 + a 1st rounder would be enough to entice a team. Getting a 1st rounder with it would make eating that salary a lot more palatable, especially if they're desperate and/or really think it's that final piece (ala Sheed to Detroit). OKC could use it as an opportunity to get more flexible assets back in return.

I would have respected Marcus Morris if he said it was about the money. Instead he "wanted to do what's best for his family". Yeah i'm sure moving from city to city every year is good for the family.

The big mystery is how Harden and Russ will play together. Russ is the big question mark. If he try to come in and run the team and be the man it won't work... But Harden has to take a back seat at times and let Russ shine... So it will be a sticky situation but hopefully they can let their pride down for the teams sakes. They have played together before and know what to expect... Neither one has a championship so both should be willing to do whatever it takes to try and make a run..

Russ is 4 years younger than Paul and extends the window for Harden and the Rockets window to win a championship... So who knows. There's a lot of doubters that say we can't play together but only time will tell..
