Malzahn is about to be fired. I take a look at the ease of recruiting and talent. It’s easier to get quality talent at Michigan than Northwestern but Fitzgerald has done fairly well with coaching people up. Jimbo hasn’t shown that at all and FSU was in shambles when he left.

Looking at straight results isn’t apples to apples since it’s different conferences and the ACC is trash outside of Clemson.

Those are fair points. But it's hard to diminish a championship. As to your last point, that's why I'm inclined to include a guy like Mullen. Miss State is probably the worst job in the SECW. And he got them on the doorstep of the CFP. That'd be like of someone took IU or Rutgers to that point. And he did a great job turning Florida around after taking over that dumpster fire.

Syracuse was tournament champs in 2003, only made the title game two other times: 1987 & 1996. Michigan, as you may know, made the tournament title game in 2018 and 2013; and 4 other times beyond that. Both Michigan and Syracuse only have one tournament championship.

I think Saban, Kirby and Jimbo are pretty obvious choices when comparing the top of what the B1G has. 7 of his 9 seasons he's finished top 20. 4 seasons in the top 10. 5 BCS/NY6 bowl appearances. Then I debated between Mullen and Malzahn.

To be fair, Northwestern could've won a title with Cam Newton at QB. He was unstoppable.

LOL cinderellas happen every year, doesn't mean that beating them is that big of a deal. They're not good teams to begin with. That was the easiest run to a title game in the history of the tournament.

Plenty of teams had the same opportunity to take a similar route to the championship....and didn't. Though...even if you're devaluing this latest one, we still have plenty more than Syracuse.

No they didn't. There's never been another team that's had an easier route. You beat nobody higher than a 6 seed (my bad, not a 5). You beat a 14, 11, 9, 7, and 6 to make the title game. You were lucky as hell that several teams got upset, give me a break.
