You didn't.

And yet what I said is 100%, bullet proof, ironclad true.

Spoken like a Lakers fan... damn those Celtics no matter what! :D

So if AD get traded to the Celtics, you're willing to put down a season long AV bet that they win the title?

I'd do that if they have both Kyrie and AD, sure.

You'd predict a decade of titles (minimum) for the Lakers if they landed AD.

Nobody had predicted anything of yet.

You, on the other hand, have guaranteed a Celtics championship immediately.

Things that make you go hmmm. ;)

Well, AD's famous meddling agent has come out today and stated that it would be stupid for the Celtics to try to put together a deal for AD because he wants to play in the west primarily with the Lakers and, if for some reason the Celts threw gobs of money at him (even after AD has stated he ain't signing a Celts deal) and got him to sign, AD would be there on a one-year rental deal. Next summer he is officially a FA. No, if there is going to be a deal soon, it'll be with the Lakers.

You keep saying that as if my analysis isn't dead-on accurate.

Y'all aren't fooling anybody.

If the C's get AD and keep Kyrie, they likely end up with a core of:
  • Irving
  • Brown
  • Hayward
  • AD
  • Horford
That team is a monster.

Yeah...

Brown would be included in the trade for AD

And that's assuming Kyrie stays too.

Even so, the Bucks, Raptors and Sixers are still probably better.

Plus, what will the roster look like a year later?

Nah.

We'd only know if it happens, of course... but that hasn't been the smart speculation.

Kyrie isn't staying, he has a better chance of being a leader than staying

So what would a better deal be to the Pelicans that would make them pick the Celtics offer over the Lakers'?

Tatum plus.

Tatum is the best, most attractive single asset out there.

So a deal along the lines of:
  • Tatum
  • Smart
  • Throw in player (Williams?)
  • Couple of 1sts

Hey, like I said, I hope he does go to Boston.

He'll be in LA or NY in 2020 though

Same story as the trade deadline.

Rich Paul has as much power now as he had then to control this trade.

Guy's embarassing. I'd feel bad for AD if AD wasn't a grown man.

The Lake Show Life is reporting that a deal for the Lakers acquiring AD is approaching imminence or by this week-end per the wants of David Griffin, GM of the Pels. This is probably going to be multiple team deal as Griffin wants two number ones this year, an all-star player, and a player with all-star potential. The teams mentioned to be involved are the Lakers (the destination for AD), the Celtics, the Knicks, and possibly the Nets. Stay tuned on this one.

Tatum is not substantially better than Ingram, and the Lakers are offering another young piece and the #4 in addtion.

For that "whatever the #4 can bring in trade", I wonder if two firsts and dumping Solomon Hill's contract on the Hawks sounds intriguing to Griffin. #4 and Solomon Hill for #8, #10, and #35, with #35 going to the Lakers.

Not only did Kyrie indicate he's turning down his option (as expected), he's changing his representation to JayZ's firm. Kyrie is going to NYC, can't get much clearer IMO.

He's not controlling the trade. But he's making it very clear that AD won't be a Celtic for the season after next even if he gets traded there.

I don't get why you can't understand why he's, at best, going to be a years rental.

So what does the future hold for the Celtics?
No Kyrie, No AD, No Tatum and no high draft picks.

:hope:
