There has to be a way around it. I get why you’re saying but the player has ALL the risk. It should be spread out more equally. Both sides take some risk. Maybe they can amend the cap for injured players. Like the player gets the guaranteed money but it doesn’t count against the cap. I don’t know but Jerry Jone (for example) has made over 4 billion alone in just the value of the team not to mention 50 something players get 48% of the money and Jerry alone gets 52% or more then every player on the team combined each and every year. There is more then enough money rolling in to take care of both sides.
But I’m just saying it shouldn’t be looked at as the players being greedy nor the owners. That how our system I’m this country works and it seems like too many people think, “Don’t you dare complain. Take what the owner says and if you don’t like it, too bad”

People bitched at the players last time and they were fucking locked out. It would be like you going to work tomorrow and your job has the doors locked saying “Go home. We aren’t open” then people calling you greedy for not going to work.

Everyone knows you're an idiot. Why do you feel the constant pressure to keep proving it?

There is a risk in everything. Football players play football because they love the game, have the talent and like the $ they receive. If they want a less exciting life, with less pay and little risk they can go bag groceries.

Jerry Jones also has operating cost and non-football player employees to pay.

As usual your comparisons suck. On one of your other posts about shitty comedic movie actors. You're trying to compare a stand up comedy routine act to a movie.
Let's not even bring Carlin's body of work into this. At least Murphy made a couple good films.
I love Eddie Murphy but take a look at these blockbusters:

Small market teams are raking in cash too. Every team can afford some dead contracts.
People who resolve issues by saying, “Life isn’t fair” are assholes. Let’s work together to make it fair. That’s such a shitty excuse. Some drunk driver paralyzed your cute little girl... oh well, life isn’t fair.
Many football players aren’t millionaires. They play a brutal sport and we don’t give a shit about their lives just as long as they entertain us. It’s a business. In business there are negotiations. It sucks as fans but the players have the right to negotiate a fair deal. Both sides have that right and I don’t understand why people only support the owners rights.
They should just hire Howie right?
Keep supporting your everyone deserves a hand out program campaign.
You want to make big bucks, buy a team.

162>80>16:noidea:Not sure anyone should be complaining.

The reason for the difference in contract value has nothing to do with games played. It is because of roster size. NFL QB's would be getting paid an easy $50m a year if they changed to 7 on 7 football.

Yeah that's what was supposed to happen, but it's not happening like your numbers suggest....just go look at a cap breakdown at a team level...you will find 8 to 10 players in the $8 mil + range, typically your star players on a 2nd contract, then the upper drafted rookie deals and mid level vets around 1 to 3 mil then the guys not making a million per season finish out the 53.
How do these poor guys getting league min even eat? Vet min is almost $500k.
Most of these players have zero school loans to pay off.
They all receive per diem and equipment. So no additional cost to them.

What the NFLPA should fight for is a medical and retirement plan for players. Let the players pay into it. If they want to pay into after they retire they can. Just like most Americans. Life isn't free.

Compared to us...they have it damn good...compared to other pro team sport leagues (a more true comparison), they do pretty well, but NBA, NHL and MLB players sign a contract they know they will get that money. NFL players know they will get most of it... if they stay healthy and performance doesn't slip too much.
I still argue they play 162 games and 80 games a year verse 16.

OK
I'll pay you x million to play 16 games. Or I pay you slightly more but guarenteed to play 162. I know which one I'm picking.
You can't put a value on time.

He also has 10 games in 3 years where he is below 70 PR, most in the 50's or low 60's.

That's over 20% of all his games, he sucks in.

Can you say erratic?

Just sayin'
actually 11 games below 70 since you're counting. His second year was a tough one after the Atlanta beating he took.

Year 1
first game ever in the NFL was 69.4
week 13 against the GMen was 45.4
and the last game of the year when he played two series was 63.0

Year 2
week 2 was 68.6
week 9 against Atlanta was 82.1 but he was beaten up with 8 sacks and countless huge hits on him. Shook him good
week 10 was 30.4
week 11 was 60.6
week 14 was 59.5
week 15 was 51.2

Year 3
week 3 was 54.5
week 5 was 66.5
week 14 was 64.7

no...I wouldn't say erratic other than year two when he got shell shocked after the Atlanta game.

considering year 1 was 104.9 and that tough year two was still 86.6 followed up last year with 96.9. I'd say all in all, pretty darn good when you consider him being a 4th round draft pick who's 32-16 as a starter with 67 TD to 25 INT and 18 rushing TD's.

3 playoff games
103.2 (L)
83.6 (W)
99.2 (L)

Bottom line....this kid has out performed his salary and is going to get paid....any agent would tell you that

Just Saying

NFLPA to agents: Players should save money

I was at a radio sports talk remote a couple of years ago and former NFL/UGA player now radio show host, Randy McMichael said the players will have to sit out a year to ever make any serious gains. He doesn't see that ever happening because far too many players have hand-to-mouth type finances.

Well, the NFLPA appears to be posturing, but they've never really put out a communication as pointed as this one. They have 3 seasons remaining under the current CBA....after the '21 season, maybe they finally get serious and force the owners to miss some revenue as well.

Why bother going on strike? As long as DeMaurice Smith is the head of the NFLPA, the players are fucked.

We were talking about the saying, “Life isn’t fair”, that video was about how everyone is talented in a different way and not everyone can do anything they want. Stupid bro, just stupid

Like every Company everywhere. Owners start it up, take the risk and reap the rewards. If the players don't like their salaries or their jobs they can look elsewhere for work just like the rest of us. I think what they are paid is more than fair already and I have no sympathy for them.

At the same time I applaud any of them that feels it's not a good deal for them and wants to leave for another field. I guess sooner or later that may happen, or maybe not...So I guess it is a pretty damn good deal for them

Sad how so many people in our country think billionaires have all the power and we are just pawns for them because they are rich. Football players and owners make a business agreement. They agree to display their one in a million athletic ability in a partnership with the owners because together they can generate billions upon billions upon billions. Sometimes they have to renegotiate there deal. The owners and players BOTH bargain for what they want.
It’s not... “fuck the athletes. Billionaires are more important then us and what they say always goes. These athletes should be happy with what they get. I don’t give a fuck these athletes generate billion and billions. I think the one guy should get it all and fuck anyone who dare negotiate with a billionaire because they are better then us and make all the rules”

I’ll never understand it. It’s a partnership. Both sides have the right to negotiate. I’ll never understand people looking at the rich as gods and we should just shut the fuck up and let them make all the rules.

You can't put a value on time.

NFL players work just as many hours in a year as baseball players do.

I'd pick the 16 games because I like football more than baseball. But I'd do so knowing I would be putting in an equal amount of work....and the work was a lot harder.

go ask an owner of any company, but start with a small company where they are taking all the risks & the employee is getting paid no matter what. Go ask them if they think it is a partnership with the employees or if they own the company.
That would be fun to see their reaction.

the owners make money when the players strike. Expenses are down and they still get the revenus from TV and merchandising.

A strike benefits maybe 25% of the players if that. They should bargain for more years of health insurance after their playing days, pot removed from banned substance and less power for Roger when disciplining the players. All very much accomplish-able.

So let’s “make it fair”.

Bullshit. Because everyone has different talents, drive, work ethic, etc
